	What I hate about Mp Got spare money?

What I hate about mp.
I was playing a game today and two punks from the start of the game were being ass-holes calling me names, talking about my mom etc, i guess they were friends. Ok back to the story i plant my city the first turn while they wait to the second they start to call me a cheater becuase I had 30 points the first time while they only had 10 becuase they waited. They keep calling me names and so on. I saw one of them on a island by theirself. I didnt have mapmaking yet but I had horse-riding so i built a horde of horseman. When i got mm i went to the island and unloaded my horseman they all were killed attacking spearman. So i regrouped and sent more to a smaller city not their capitol. I caputred the city with about 10 horseman. After that he quit after an hour of playing then his friend quit. I was mad so I went back to the lobby and they said i lost so i just left and made this post, and thats what i hate about mp

Are you sure you were playing Civ3, or Counter-Strike with a bunch of twelve year-olds (not that I have anything against that age group mind you...)?

These are the reasons I got out of MP games way back in the Red Alert days, too many childern (of all ages) and cheaters. Who needs the grief.

What you need to do is find some reliable regular partners for MP. All the MP forums here have them.

Ever been backstabbed by an ally in a RTS-game. That makes you mad, I can assure you. Like breaking a ROP+MPP deal in CIV3. Happened to me quite a few times in Starcraft.

Judging from some of the posts around the strategy forums here, you wouldn't stand a change against most of the players here...

That's why MP does not interest me much. I've tried oit once and I do not need the hassle. I can imagine that I may try a game of MP with some people from around here.

Yeah, but you can't "beat" that kind of player.
Even if you "win" the game because they actually bothered to stick it out, they'll do what they did, lie about it.


If you start a game and someone's being a butthead, either boot them or quit. You can't win an argument with a two-year-old and you can't "beat" a leet kiddie(regardless of age).


Like was said before, find a regular partner, or at least a "pick-up" game with someone on the forum that you think will "play nice". (Note: Play nice has no meaning as far as tactics, just that they won't be buttheads and leets.)

Stupid question, perhaps, but what does that "leet" actually mean? I know it has something to do with "733t" type of typing (moronic...), but from where does it actually come from?

elite. which imo isn't what they are at al, they wouldn't be able to get a leader if you pitched them against ANYTHING. they suck, so they claim they are elitists... someone should tell eli he has followers...

This is the answer. MP is great, for lots of games, but people aren't always.

Dont play with random people from the GameSpy thingie. There are more than enough players on Poly and other Civ sites to arrange games.

Of course if you want something immediate, you'll have to take the risk of wasting an hour on playing with morons.
