	Customization of the Civs Support Apolyton, buy Civilization III: Complete

Togas and Arnelos are away. Typically, ten minutes after Togas goes out of contact , this thread was posted, which requres a decision from us on the specifics of our Civilization.

The following categories are requried:
Civ : Spain
Name of Civ :
Noun :
Adjective :
Title of the leader :
Name of the leader :
Colour : [Normal Spanish Color]

Has there been a decision made on this yet? Also, GodKing, are you in charge for the next few days (considering it sounded like you were going to be playing the game for us on the 1st)? If not, is anyone in charge?

Togas told me to make sure the team doesn't fall apart while he's away , so I just want to ensure that something gets posted there by some authority before the game starts on the 1st.

In no manner. The civilization is Spania, or Iberia as all know, nothing related to squid. We are squid fans and squid apreaciaters. No squidfanatics!
I find strange that you purposes such a blaspheme as changing our glorious civ name. It was Spania for our ancestors, it shall be Spania for our descendents and for the whole time ever. Unless great Togas sugests otherwise...

Anyone looking to master extended characters can find them here: http://www.asciitable.com

To get an extended character on a standard PC keyboard, hold the ALT key down and enter the numbers of the ASCII code for the character. (e.g. ALT & 1-6-4 = ñ)

Foreign language characters are from 128-165.

Do we want our name to be "Roleplay" in Spanish or "Spain" in spanish?

I can get the accented characters, but I don't know if they'll work in Civ3 -- do any of the PTW cities use them?

What should the name of our leader be?

In fact, it's difficult to roleplay in Spanish.
When I don't know the Spanish language.
(except for "Uno cerveza por favor" and such)

So I don't take those things so seriously...
And just roleplay anyway.

We are Spanish. We are not Squidania, and nice as the thought of Calamaria is, we are not that either. We are Spanairds. Why can we not accept that?

Also, does anyone know if accents and ñs work in Civ3-PTW? Do any of the City-names or leaders use them or anything (or could someone start a game and try it )? If they do, we can ask whoever sets up the game to copy-paste our selections in and see if they come out right; if not, we should probably just avoid the trouble.

I just tried it - worked fine.

I modified the Spanish Title to Señor and started a game. It appeared properly in the game setup, and in the diplomacy screen in-game.

The funny thing was that Señor Togas picture was a woman!

. Awsome -- and thanks . (I'd have done it myself, but am still lacking PTW -- and considering the reviews, don't know if I'll be making the plunge anytime soon ). When you did that, did you enter the name directly into the screen, or copied the word Señor from a different window and pasted it in there?

Anyway, any suggestions for the Name of Leader?

Togas might not be leader forever, though I'd have no objection to his glorious rule lasting for all of eternity! More importantly, I don't know if he wants his name to go into the in-game setup screen or not -- and we can't wait until he's gotten back and the game's started to find out . Any suggestions for some neutral compromise?

What about this?

Name of civ: España (Spain)
Noun: Españoles (Spanish, the Spanish people)
Adjective: Español (Spanish, an Spanish meal)
Leader: Rey (King, since even the actual spain has a king)
Colour: Red (The colour of the spanish sport teams)

I quite like the idea of 'Rey' instead of Senor'.

The decision was already made (by Togas) to go with Spain's default color rather than change it.

I don't know enough Spanish to comment on the Noun/Adjective forms (I'm trying to learn, but not that good at vocab. yet), but if no one else has anything, then let's go with it .

Greetings from my vacation.

Good thing I dropped in check on the progress of the game. Here's what I'd like the settings to be:


Civ : Spain
Name of Civ : España
Noun : Spanish
Adjective : Spanish
Title of Leader: El Rey (Reya? If the title will always be used before the leader's name, go with female form. It the title will be used separately, let's go with male form.)
Name of the Leader : Isabella (We're going to be stuck with her picture, so we may as well use her name)
Colour : [Normal Spanish Color]

I'll check my email again tomorrow before I head back home, so you can PM me with any urgent business and I'll see it and be able to respond.

adaMada: The title and picture appear together in the Foreign Advisor screen. So I guess Togas is in favour of Reina.
