	Legoland new logo proposal (real thread) Support Apolyton buy from Amazon

OK, I seriously hope I will not offend the author of our current logo, but I feel like it's not very eye-catching, especially compared to the logos of our rivals. I did my best to come up with a new one that would resemble a simple coat of arms. It's supposed to be a hammer in a brick pattern field - the brick pattern was originally kinda red or reddish, but I have later changed it to green to make it easier to distinguish (nobody else uses a green logo yet + our current logo is partially green + green has often been considered the colour of peace... and I assume we consider ourselves peaceful builders, so...).

Here is how the new logo might look like (I have faked a picture letting you compare the "new" logo to the current one side by side):

I am so sorry you can't have a look right now... I don't know what the problem is, but my image will not show when I attach it. Dunno why... it is a regular gif, 12 kB long...

I have packed the new logo, the faked example and source PhotoShop files into a ZIP archive. Be so kind, download it and have a look, please.

P.S.: I will keep trying to place the image online, but I think I've already tried everything... nothing worked... If anybody can do me a favour and properly put the example picture to a post, I would be grateful.

You mean there is a known bug regarding the attachments in private fora??? I must have done a wonderful job of missing this information... I consider this bug a reason important enough to postpone launching the demogame. How are we supposed to discuss strategy and such, when we can attach no pictures to our posts?!

OK, I posted the faked example of the proposed logo in our public forum here. Have a look there, please, and vote here. I will upload the ZIP file there, too, in case anyone feels like playing with the PhotoShop sources a bit (it's very easy to change the brick pattern field colour, for example...).

Yep, it's more catchy than the current one, which I made fast when Markos first talked about a Logo. It could use a Greeker Green IMHO. I'll see if I can modify it a bit this weekend (I might not have the time)

Very good point, Spiffor. I have adjusted the logo and placed the new version here. I believe it now makes great sense as far as symbolics is concerned, too. The hammer and brick pattern for "builders" and the Greek green for "peace" and our civ-colour.

I voted for it, too.
I could imagine an even better looking hammer (more impressive, yes, I think this is the right word, a more impressive one), but I have no idea how to do it. I mean, technically I know how to do it, but I have no inspiration to change it to better.

Tibi, you seem to be thinking of a war hammer... The one I used is a regular, modest hammer for builders...

But believe me, before the game is over, our foes will fear even this small one!

OK, this is just a shameless bump... currently, 7 members would like to have the logo changed, two would prefer keeping the current logo. Even though 7:2 is pretty much in favour of adopting the new logo, it is still not enough to do it "by the book" (or according to the yet not ratified Constitution). Would the members that haven't voted yet speak their mind, so that we are able to conclude this matter in one way or another, please?

Nope, as the new logo is not considered to be officialy adopted yet, I think. We would really need everybody to vote on this subject... after all, every member will have the logo displayed right next to his name everywhere on Poly, so I guess everybody SHOULD know if he wants to use it or not...

Good point. Though since a lot of members don't seem to ever post ( ) you might want to start a new, 7-day poll. That should get a full turnout. (Or I can do it, if you want.)

Good idea... that might do the trick. But then... we should wait for the Constitution to be adopted first, so that a 7-day poll is really valid...
