I love how everybody takes this so seriously... come on folks, we are talking about grade B Sci Fi movies... slicker then most, but still grade B at best.

I found them all entertaining... so in my mind, they were all great. I surely didn't go to any of them expecting award winning performances... brilliant writing... or deep meaning. I expected to be entertained by grade B Space Opera, and none of the films have let me down yet.

But yeah... jar jar should be shot

As much as I agree with ming that expectations shouldn't be high for a simple grade B sci fi film, with all the money that was pumped into this series, they could have least chosen an actor to play Anakin that could deliver a line better than a wooden cigar store indian. Even my daughter, who thought he was almost hot , was wondering how someone that so obviously can't act could have gotten the leading role.

The love scenes were quite painful to watch.

Bah humbug... it's gotten enough critic praise. Many reputable critics place it in the top 25 movies of all time. But that's your opinion. I just happen to disagree.

AOTC was better the second time. The big problems with the budding romance scenes are that they are intersperced with Obi-Wan's detective story. At this point you are much more interested in that.

I watched the deleted scenes, and they actually took out some interesting Anakin-Amadala stuff. But on second viewing you know what Obi-Wan is going to find, so the Anakin stuff doesn't grind the movie to a halt like it did the first time.

The original 3 are still much better though.

I believe that the people agree that Empire was the Best 'Star Wars' movie. BUT, I think that's similar to saying that MO was the smartest Stooge. All the movies were grade B movies but Empire was a little better. Any critic that would put it in the top 25 movies of all time is either.
1. On Lucas's payroll. (directly or indirectly)
2. Not taken seriously in the industry. (of course I don't thing any critics are )

Many of the early reviews were not so flattering. In retrospect ESB has gained a lot of respect from reviewers. I do remember one reviewer giving the phatom meanace a good review simply because it was star wars.

You have to ask yourself can this movie stand on it's own.

I think its fair enough for a critic to say either episode 4 or 5 should be in the top 25 movies of all time, if only on influence alone.
