	IRC channel thingi Support Apolyton, buy Civilization: The Boardgame

Okay, setting up IRC channel now...
I'll need you all to register your nicks with nickserv. You'll have to use an IRC client though, no Java stuff (mIRC is good for beginners). The process is simple: connect to the IRC server and type:
/msg nickserv register put-your-password-of-choice-here put-your-email-address-here
Afterwards, an Email will be sent to your Email account with instructions on how to complete the registration process.
Once you're done following the instructions enclosed with the Email, your nick will be registered. Then, I'll need you to enter these two lines:
/msg nickserv set kill quick
/msg nickserv set secure on
Done? Good. Post here to let me know that you're done so I can add you to the access list for the channel.

The channel is set. Join with:
/join #gatheringstorm AddOneTeaSpoonOfSugar (not case-sensitive)

Well, you can't really join until you're done registering your nick and I've added you to the access list, otherwise you'd be kicked immediately (and banned if you continously attempt to join).

It's installed on 'Poly's IRC server as well. I suppose he's using the same one that DALNet is using (it's open-source and free to copy).

hmmm, just did it and it said the password I entered was an "unknown command".

what did I do wrong?

Btw, DeepO and SirRalph joined the channel before I added them to the access list, causing them to get autobanned by Chanserv. It's not your fault because I didn't warn you about this, but to everyone else whom I haven't authorized yet: please don't enter the channel before I tell you that you've been authorized to. It just creates more work for me to unban you.
