People of Madrid!

Since my nomination as Chief Architect I have not stopped thinking which improvement to propose to our High Leader Togas.

His dignity deserves certainly an abode to the height of his rank. His current cave showed to have a lot of defects that return the exercise of his High Post very painful :





I began imagining an impressive pile of rocks and standing stones that clearly could be seen since the heights of His Hill or even since the Peak of Navacerrada. Nevertheless, I said myself that such a layout of our sacred rocks would be very heavy to implement for our tribe, now that a lot of our forces are centered on the exploration of our new lands and on the setup of the commerce of the squid.

During several days I did not arrive to sleep, so the thing seemed me impossible. When I at last found sleep, I had an extraordinary dream: I saw armed men of fitting tools in the process of cutting small units that, assembled correctly, could be put in batteries and form thus a building to which one one could give the wished shape. And I saw a first shape to arise of my dream, that I deliver to your admiration. It would be only a first element of the abode of our Big Despot, of others being able to be added by the continuation.





Of course, we did not get used to this style, but I believe that with the time will find us that these shapes correspond better to a certain state of mind than I feel to be born in each of us.

Oh great Chief Architect, your vision clearly surpass my ability to see what's not evident. I have several questions about this. What is the utility of this new cave? I supose that it is giving something new to our great leader Togas. Otherwise you wouldn't be disturbing him and his family doing all that built around them just to have a nicer cave.

Forgive me if I am saying something unapropiate, but I think that every new construction should have a utility. And of course the most well equiped of all should be for our great leader. What do you think of that?

Chief Architect...for the period, it's quite outstanding and attractive. Heavens, I love it.

By the way, in his will, my (soon to be) late father left the government one half of his fortune, a huge amount of money, for the construction of many beautiful buildings in Madrid. Use this money wisely.

Chief Architect, it is very solid, solid like the Tyrant’s Justice. I like it.

You should be glad my uncle is no longer alive as he would instead have said something like, “It is very square . Why don’t we have buildings with triangles for roofs with prongs poking out to hold the squids with? or buildings with long thin towers with roofs in the shape of onions? or buildings with circular columns to air out the place?”

Members of our tribe,

I am very satisfied of the welcome that you reserved to my architectural new ideas.

I am confiding that this suggestion will please our Big Despot and that our High Priest will give his blessing to this architecture inspired by the good spirits.

I noted some reluctance from our Master of slaves. I think that its big responsibilities do not leave him enough the time of look into the big needs of His Grace. For that everyone know it, a new era is near. The tribes of the known and unknown world will grow continually and the needs of the leaders will be more and more important. Imagine that a delegation of another tribe comes to visit us. Could we allow that our Big Togas receives these messengers in a small cellar? Which some would be the reputation of our, ...hmm..., civilization (I have just invented this word, it pleases me!) after a such visits? No, our Supreme Leader deserves a sufficiently imposing construction to impress our guests !!
