Please note all the disinformation..... building a temple.... no units for 13 turns.... different research priorities... nothing that can be traced back as a lie (ie if our warrior makes contact, he just happened to come from a goodie hut.... so on and so forth).

Hopefully, we will get some good information in return from him.

Be careful not to mislead TOO much. As I've said before, we do not want them to think of us as liars, as we are doing great things to encourage their trust and admiration for our entertaining civ.

Good proposals, though, GK. I especially like the offer to trade minimaps.

As for their questions:

Goals = Commercial & Cultural Power. We are going for Cultural or Diplomatic Victory. All ambassadors, if asked, should hint at something along those lines. Do not outright tell them this, as they will realize it's our propoganda if we forcefeed it to them.

Frankly, I find it somewhat unbelieveable that we're going straight for culture. If they show signs of doubt, say that Dejon got active and proposed we switch. Let me stress again, you DO NOT want to get caught in a lie.

Tell them they have time to respond as we have yet to start our exploration, but there is a movement within our nation to build some explorers, and IF WE DO, our minimap should be more useful to them.

However, we're too involved in the Waterfall Festival right now, which is on it's 3rd day. And also give them some details about that just to show our willingness to blab about our national affairs.

I figure we can always switch production, and the fact that we will most likely have a temple sometime anyways......

While I was sending these PM's back and forth, I was in a chat room with NYE (judge BS from the big demo game) and got a lot of usefull info on how they are operating internally. realy usefull info. I also led him to beleve that we are not really interested in winning, but expect to be eliminated about 3rd or 4th (which we all know we are going to win....) The idea being that we are here more to have fun than to win.


Anyway, i mentioned that I asked what our map trading policy was, and that I had 2 responces, while there were over a dozen responses regarding how best to prepare squid.... he thinks we are all nuts, with only a few actually following/playing the game itself.

Togas' reaction to the question about what our goals are is near identical to me own I would have pretty much straight out given the impression of COMMERCIAL over the others

I fully agree with Togas & Arnelos.

I would like that BEFORE an ambassador sents informations or porposals to other teams we discuss ourselves what to say.

I dont like the idea of trading minimaps so early. For me it destroys fun.

I agree with astrologix that we should not trade minimaps. IMHO this kind of trade is cheating. The game has been designed so that you can't trade maps if you haven't met the other civ, we have to respect that.

As for the Arabs, I am having trouble.

I sent a PM of introduction to their leader, but he has sent no response to our embassy. Secondly, he has no ambassador for our country, and intends to send none until he gets Writing.
