	Modding Colonization? Support Apolyton, pre-order Civilization IV

Call me crazy, but after years without Colonization, I installed it on my computer again, about a week ago. Must say it's still as addictive as ever.

Now, I was a little curious if there was any way to view or maybe even edit the image files for the game. It seems that the files that end with the .ss extension are the images. Different web-sites defining extensions claim that they are "Splash Bitmap Graphics." And so it seems too from the names of them that they are some kind of images. So, is there any way to take a peek at them?

its a great game.....but i have never seen mods for colonization? are there any, if so, please post a link, it would be fun to play this game on a different map, or with different graphics....

tho for that time period, the graphics were pretty decent

You CAN play it with different map.

ALL you need is final patch for the game, which has map editor included.

Thats great but where is the patch at? I havn't been able to find it.

And if anyone does know about changing the graphics that would be great.

yes where is this final patch? i have the game still and would love to use the editor for some fresh gaming....as my archaic machine can't handle much more than civ3 thanks

I found it in old microprose web page (forgot the link) 2 years ago.

Maybe it's still functional.
