I don't subscribe to OT threads any more because I tend to get 180 messages in an hour, and whatnot.

Many times, in the past year or so, people have asked that subscriptions to threads not involve being emailed about new posts, ever. To no avail.

If I wasn't bombarded by spam I would subscribe to threads to make navigating Poly easier.


I think this is just Marks way of revenge spamming.

I like the email feature, and it usually works fine. It would be useful to know why sometimes you get mail for more than the first response though.

The subscription is optional, but if you subscribe you get email updates - there is no option to turn this off. Or am I missing something?

But if you unsubscribe you don't have the threads in your subscription list.


Let me clarrify what I mean.

There is an option to turn off e-mail notification. I have had it off for longer than I can remember.

If you subscribe to a thread, it appears in your control panel under subscribed threads. I would like to use that feature, as it gives me quick access to threads in which I am participating.

If you are subscribed to a thread you automatically get email. I don't want the email. How do I turn that off and remain subscribed to a thread?

i turned all that stuff off, and i hardly ever visit the OTF....i think its a great feature if your monitoring responses to a specific thread, but if you subscribe to a bunch, its a nightmare
