	OOC: What threads to Top? Support Apolyton or Terrorists Win

What threads will we Top, once that functionality is added?

I ask because I believe the CIV3DG (SP) forum and the general forum have too many topped threads. They irritate me.

I think that Arnelos' wonderful Directory should be up topped, and then everyone can get into all the important organizational and team threads from there, without having to top them all. Aside from that, perhaps just a current orders/plans thread could be topped.

Suggestions?

While I appreciate the thought, I don't think its necessary top the Turn Index. Arnelos already commented that he liked it, so I expect him to link it in the Directory. Also, if those that provide turn reports link to it in the manner I have been, there's no strong reason for it to be topped. I'd really only like things that have strong reasons to be topped to be so, and for us to resist the temptation to top everything that will save us a click or two.

If I ever get the power to top threads, these are candidates for threads that I will top:

Character Thread
Roleplay Team Forum Directory
Team Roster
Email addresses
Official Edicts

Ack! 6! Out of 30 threads on page one - that's 20% of premium space devoted to administrivia rather than content.

If everyone is in favour of this, I will of course concede, but I don't see why we can't simply ask Arnelos to keep the Directory in top notch shape, perhaps with a Hot List up top that has links to the threads we'd otherwise top.

I have actually quite like this forum without topped threads, other than occasionally digging for Arnelos' Directory.

Just say no to excess topped threads!

that make only 4 threads with just a little cut and paste.

Speaking of these threads... I need to update them.

I'm going to be busy when I get back later this evening working on my single-player orders (for FAM), and then Friday night, but I can probably do a thorough update after that

Another thing people can do (as I have) is change the default from 30 to 50. Makes much more room. I forget just where I did it, but look under your profile.....

I request that the Chronicles and the Annals be topped too. I am always editing the Annals and don’t want to have to keep adding fake posts just to keep it near the top.
