The Explorer's Guild continues to follow the mountains towards the north, our worker labors on, and our 2nd warrior team retreats to Madrid just in case the neighboring villagers send barbarians to attack us.

Your screenshots don't come up right away, but work fine if I simply put my cursor in the location bar and then press enter. Very odd, and obviously annoying. Maybe they check the HTTP_REFERRER on the way in, because it works when hitting them direct (not through a link).

We've slipped to 5th in production - they likely all built mines.

What's the plan for the next city? Cows, silk, or somewhere else?

Cows....
and I agree they probably minned it.

I would suggest City #2 be built on the tile NW of Gold Mountain and E of the Hither Cow. (i.e. the Nearer Cow). That way our cities are near each other, our territory is compact, and we can fit more cities in Cow Valley (has anyone noticed the river beyond the Cows?).
City #3 could be built SE of the Silk Jungle. Again that would allow for room to expand and a compact, easily defended realm.

I agree with your #2 site suggestion, however I prefer directly W of the Silk for #3 - no overlaps that way.

Do we play at regent or monarch ? |
Regent.

What is best : two cows in the same city, or two cities with one cow each ? |
Playing against humans - I think it is wise to keep our cities close together and to not waste any time looking for sweet spots or a way to divide up good tiles. *
Also, our second city is very important. It has to be able to be able to build on its own quickly (defense, temple), so I'd be happy to give it both cows.
*These ideas are not my own, someone (can't remember who) said much the same thing in our pre-game strategy discussions.

City #3 southeast of silk has access to the second grassland.
But for city #3, since we are at regent, the lux is not yet urgent. I wonder whether we should not explore the W of the second cow before deciding. |
I am against delaying the founding of a second city. The proposed site (NW of Gold Mountiain) provides everything we need. It also will border Madrid after expansion, and will only require 2 turns to get to by road.

Sorry, I didn't quote clearly. I was referring to this sentence. I thought you might mean before deciding on city #2.
