i liked the movie.

the reason why it did so poorly is this:

week before opening: bond. week after opening: lotr:tt.

is it any wonder it didn't get any money? their core audience was split. stupid, stupid studio execs.

RIP Star Trek

I liked the movie as well.

And I still stand by my view that it is the third best trek movie. Again I mention that the other movies were never that great. So I'm just comparing it to the others. It had some good action scenes. Although the dune buggy scene was a bit hokey. A flimsy excuse to bring dune buggies down to the planet. And then how they get away . The combat with that Romulan ship made up for it though.

DS9 is OK. The dominion wars were interesting. I have watched most of those episodes recently. But I don't think it will succeed on the big screen. Their only hope is a crossover with Riker and Picard and Giordi. Throw in the female docs too for good measure. And the new android since DATA is deceased.

But sadly there is no market. And consequently they won't be able to spend the bucks for special effects.

Enterprise is barely watchable. I do try to watch it. It had a good premise. I would have liked to see those years of the federation made correctly. The only way to redeem this series is to improve the writing and have many, many more conflicts with the Klingons with some balancing from the Vulcans.

	Got spare money?

I am a Star Trek fan from the original series. I thought the Second Generation crew was just as good with Picard and Data being the most interesting characters. I also thought Voyager was a very good series.

I never could watch even one show of DS9. I tried several times. It just didn't work for me.

I lost interest in Enterprise at about the fourth show. Each show seemed less interesting than the previous. As well, the actors are probably the least exciting of any of the Star Trek crews. Boring is the word.

As to Nemesis, yes, this was one of the better ones. I really enjoyed it.

	Help yourself to an AD-FREE life

While I'm sure the timing wasn't great, it's more than that. To be a real successful movie these days you have to have that "lets see it again magic" Looking at the numbers, I will guess that more poeple saw TTT more than once then saw Nemesis. That's very telling.

The fact that phantom menace is number 4 on the list despite almost global recognition that it was the worst movie in the series tells you there is still a viable audience for SF. Heck, 13 of the top 16 could be classified as SF or Fantasy. More people saw a dreadful EP1 more than once, then saw Nemesis. Remember all the buzz about Nemesis prior.

Face it, it's going to be real difficult to round up people to invest in a new one.

They're toast.
