The Dinner Thread Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

It's always dinner time somewhere around the world.

So it's the Dinner thread. What are you having for dinner the day you post here? Eating in or dining out? If out, what place, what's it like, what do you like there, etc. If in, is it take-out, delivery, or cooking? Or microwave meals? Please share good recipes for your favorite dishes.

I'm having Chinese take out with my roommates. Well, one roommate. The other is sick in bed (went to the emergency room even).

Not sure what to get yet...Probably something with Tofu, or the Triple Mushroom Delight. MMMMM!

Pizza. All the time. Pizza, pizza, pizza. They're really the only place that delivers to the barracks, aside from a crappy chinese place. I'm too lazy to leave my room.

I went out for an Indian meal with my friends. (Having friends is one of the reasons why I don't know why Tiamat is an Apolyton legend).

I had a Lamb Madras, which was almost hot enough to be a vindaloo, if you ask me.

Home-made Sloppy Joes. It's ok, but the local supermarket chains (Raley's, Albertson's, and Scolari's to name a few) have been getting REALLY SH*TTY meat shipments over the past few months or so. I want MEAT damnit, not chewy cartilige bits and slivers of bone!

If it were lunch would I be claiming it were my dinner? Besides I'm missing the best part, the crusted over cheesed mashed potatos. Not to mention the green jello!

* Aeson just lives as far away from food as possible, and fish sticks and tater tots helps in that regard

Haven't eaten yet, but I will probably whip up some pasta...usually I mix some sort of pasta with canned tuna, black olives, chedder and parmesan cheese, with a large amount of crushed red pepper and other seasonings. Mmmmmm......

Or I might make some nachos...usually beef, four types of cheese, a bunch of jalapenos, black olives, and onions...good stuff too

Actually, I think WHAT I eat is worse for me than WHEN I eat...considering that yesterday my entire intake of food consisted of half a loaf of white bread and 2/3s of a bag of jalapeno chips, and all I've had today is some frozen yogurt, a candy bar, and a sandwich.

And a ton of Dr Pepper on both days.

But this is early for me, lot's of nights I don't even eat until 2 or 3. Then I sleep until about 2 pm the next afternoon, assuming I don't have to work early (and assuming I'm skipping school, which is sort of expected).

I've heard this too many times.

Every night about an hour before I go to bed I make a good-sized snack, and I'm still 5'10 and 140lbs in all these years of doing it.

In summary, only people with slow metabolisms must heed that advice. The (temporarily) biologically blessed like I am don't need to worry about it.

Put an end to popups!

Nothing to do with weight. Has to to with developing some nasty digestive disorders in the future, and an increased risk of esophogeal cancer.

What does time of eating have to do with the esophogus?

Sounds like an old wive's tale to me, is there any medical proof for it?

I'm assuming you will be going to bed failry soon after eating. Going to bed while your stomach is full and digesting is not healthy for you. One of the big problems is increased acid reflux, where your stomach acid will back up your esophogus, where it eats away the tissue and leads to an increased risk of cancer.
