Well done, LaFayette!
Maybe I can return the favor by keeping Samson busy with another early landing attempt, as he has taken up the challenge. I'll be happy if he lets me hold onto the standard map record until Christmas!

Interestingly, I just finished this scenario myself.
Playing as the Franks, Deity level, no caravans.
All objectives conquered: 1250 AD.
The Mongol Elite Cavalry unit is tough to kill. I lost a lot of knights at Qaraqorum and didn't take it until I brought up some cannon.
Now playing 'Independence' as the Americans.

Marquis
In 1250 there were only 4 cities remaining, all Mongol. It took 3 turns to bribe and conquer these. Total conquest achieved in 1253.

Is there any way how to find out where are all the objective cities of a scenario?
I want to start as Franks, I have a feeling that Mongolia and Japan are somewhere east but...theoretically I wouldn't be obliged to know that and I could waste some resources by exploring the Sahara for example.

I think with the records you should register if the map was played the first time or not. It is a lot different if you know the map: after I exchanged maps with Mongols, I hoped the arch of south chinese cities and Samarkand or Delhi are connected by roads and that I will be able to use my big army for farther conquest. But now I found out my big army is for nothing
Samson, do I have a chance to beat your record? It is 1233 and Samarkand will be taken soon, Shachou and Ning-hsia were bribed. (BTW, that stupid chinese AI sucks. They ignore me! With Ning-hsia I supposed I would bribe a lot of units preparing to counterattack and take the Shachou back, but there were one Light Infantry only... A year ago I tried the Rome scenario and it was quite different. AI had more units and produced some resistance).
Now I am able to realize many errors in my game:
not using ship chaining for a while in the beginning
Cathedral of Constantinople not sold immediately after Mike
I cumulated too much of gold in the beginning, I tried not to buy a shield expensively, i.e. for 4 or 3 gold. I should rushbuy faster
too much of assasins was built in the beginning: they are good only against cities on rivers or hills
maps are exchanged with Mongols a little bit late
I should send Envoys to the East sooner.
I should get science bar higher so that I could get Mettalurgy in 1 turn after I would get Advanced Gunpowder (in any manner).
(ST, waiting for cannons two turns later)

Tell me something about your games...
This was (is) my game:
In the beginning, 4 NorthWest cities built Mike (it was my only wonder not taken by conquest), Constantinopolis and Belgrade built barracks (it were my only barrack built up to Kashgar, all other barracks were taken with cities).
I was a little bit slow in this stage of game: Nicaea were captured in 1216. Then my main army headed directly to east, side cities in the middle east were taken later when my cities with barracks weren't obliged to strengthen my main army.
I never tried to exchange maps with Turks, maybe I should try it (was it possible? were there techs to give?). Later I exchanged maps with Mongols, then Chinese.
Three diplomats were dispatched from Russia to Shachou and bribed it in 1231. I bribed quickly also Ning-hsia, built barracks and started to build cannons and a new big army.
The army number 1 were disbanded around Samarkand and about 15 assasins with a support of Envoys are heading to SouthWest China now.
Another point of my interest is Korea: I wanted to bribe it and start a contest to Japan, but a Japan caravel is going around - it will be bribed now in place of Korea.
Now it is 1238, Chinese just bribed Alamut (sic!) and took Mettalurgy.

And your game, La Fayette?
Edit: I guess I have a chance to finish about 1247, but anything may happen...
