	RP: Meeting of Noble Families Avatar Enlargement: We've got the solution

I, Decedro Togas, ruler of Spain, hereby request that representatives from all of the Great Spanish Families meet at Casa del Togas to discuss important future matters of the tribe.

I have traveled with sons of the Dejon clan to the peaks of the Great Spanish mountains to the west to personally view a vast valley of cattle, a rich land free from Barbarians, a land that is far from Madrid, but one that we should control.

I believe that we shall send a great many families to this new land to forge a new city. I wish to see who amongst us is brave enough to lead this great undertaking. Who has the courage to leave his home and build another city?

Also, I am not my father or my father's father. I am my own man. I have deep respect for the elders chosen in the past, but if I am to reign over our people in this time of the expansion of our nation, I wish to appoint my own advisors.

I seek counsel from you as to whom would be best to serve me as my advisors.

Sir, I have cleaned the chamber pots from your family for over 5 generations now. I look forward to cleaning you pot as well.

Relations with the foreign dogs known as Great Stromboli are in a hold pattern now as they sit on their behind and do nothing.

Poupon is escorting the TEG, Dijon leads the Madrid Expedition, and the others are swamped with the family shop and duties at the Training Ground. So here I am!

I have the most recent reports from our warriors, a status of all armed forces and training, and finally the wise men bid me pass on their report with the Bronze metal - they're nice guys - one of them promised to help me with my ranged stick invention!

I, Hernan de History Guy Calamari the Younger, present myself as a candidate for just about everything except for the post of Grand High Chamberpot Cleaner (against Shaman's orders).

I have but one suggestion to make, however. Do nothing where religion is concerned as yet. The High Priest, Tacticus, is one of the greatest men of history, and to replace him would be a terrible loss, I think. I, as Assistant Priest, know well of his greatness, and must say that it would be wrong, after all his years of incredible service, to remove him for that office.

However, everything else I will not comment upon, except that I am skilled in many things, and put myself forward for any one of them [ooc] that does not involve PtW [/ooc].

Lorenzo, the most trusted advisor of your grandfather and father, seems now to be on his deathbed himself. He has served your family well over these many years. However, as I know my father has already discussed with you, my service to the tribe may not necessarily be of the same character as my father's.

Areas where I believe I might be of particular use to yourself or the tribe would be as an ambassador to a foreign land, as the leader of a new settlement as you suggest (OOC: We have already discussed how NOT being FAM but being President could go either way with time commitments), or some other position. I would be willing to speak on these matters with you in private, should you grant such an audience. I fear that my father, the most trusted advisor of your household for many years, is likely too ill to discuss the matter of my office and I must discuss it with you myself.

Gracious Dictator,

My father Juan de Torquemada, Watcher, is quite proud that during all those years he has been watching for your family, no serious attempt for threatening the security of the Dictators power and person was undertaken; he has some reasons to believe that his watching was therefore not totally useless. Considering his declining health, he has decided that some younger caballero, but as loyal and faithfull than he is, must be assigned this duty by Your Grace.

Although my father will certainly be desappointed that I do not follows the same path, I think that the situation is now quite different from the beginning of your family rise. The dynasty is firmly established, and the time calls for new moves. I respectfully suggest to Your Grace to create the charge of Chronologist. I see it as a very simple thing consisting in recording chronologically all events; this will be of some use for easy reference in the daily life, and it will help the historians of the future to write the fair and true History of your lineage in its greatness.

Although loyalty can be inherited, I ask Your Grace as a favor to put mine at test whenever an opportunity occurs, in such a way that the strong links that united our fathers be reestablished in a personal relation.

This sounds very much like what my family does already in the Annals and what the Historian does. What will the Chronologist do that is different? Have my family’s Annals displeased you in some way?

I know that my brother Jordí was not too excited about the family duty of keeping up the Annals but now that he has gone off on the adventures he always wanted to do they will be done better in future.

Señor Pikesfan,

I have too much admiration for the Annals of Iberian for even contemplating to duplicate them. What I was talking about has not a litterary form, and cannot be named History : it is the simplest recording of events, systematically entered, in chronological order. I have been impressed by the fact that the mythical Apolytonia, despite all its wealth and power, has not been able to produce such a record.

If we are all competing to deserve and earn the esteem of our Gracious Dictator, it is not by copying your masterpiece that I intend to succeed.

Great Dictator,

As you certainly knew it this morning, my grandfather, señor Astronicus is dead yesterday evening. It talked about me its big projects and of his wish that I follow his steps to your service, this that I will accept gladly if such is your decision.

I am nevertheless bolder than my grandfather and would wish to participate in the creation of a fleet for our empire being born, in order to launch it to the discovery of new lands beyond the seas. Also, I wish to find a new abode in our next coastal city, there where Señor Astronicus wanted to realize the Great Lighthouse. Of more, I would wish to become the governor of this city, in order to assure me that his big project become realized, if no by me, at least by my worthy successor.

Be able these humble words to find sufficiently grace on your ears.

1. The Chronology, recording all the events by year.
2. The Annals, listing the rulers and summarizing the chief events by reign
3. The History, which tells the stories behind the events.

My two brothers believe it was Zeus, in retaliation for my father's renouncing of the Olympians. My brothers have left the town vowing revenge. Also, if my lord requires me to do any other enchargment, I will do what little I can to the best of my abillity to aid.
