FAM REPORT: 1250 A.D. Turnchat

1250 A.D. (D-2)

- Sold Persia Medicine for 7LPT + 15L + their WM
(this was below the stated 200L minimum, but a discussion in the chat decided that Persia was a lesser power that we could afford to give older techs to at reduced price and one of the larger AI civs would probably sell it to them anyway for that cash if we didn't)

Between Turns

- Rome and Babylon sign a military alliance against Apolytonia (Babylon declares war on Apolytonia!)
- Rome and China sign a military alliance against Apolytonia (China declares war on Apolytonia!)
- Rome attacks us on our territory and activates our MPPs with England, Greece, the Iroquois, Russia, and Japan. England, Greece, Russia, Japan, and the Iroquios all declare war on Rome!

1255 A.D. (D-1)

- Cancelled sale of Saltpeter to Russia for 8 LPT (it had been allowed to ride from a previous turn)
- Sold Coal to Russia for 30 LPT + their WM (it would have been far less if we hadn't cancelled the saltpeter deal and combined the payments for just selling coal)

Between Turns

- Germany asked to renegotiate our sale of spices to them for 14 LPT (we've been letting that deal ride for some time now). We cancelled the deal.

1260 A.D. (D-Turn)

- Traded Electricity to Russia for Espionage and their WM
- Let all of the peace treaties ride (intention to declare war on Germany in 2 turns)

Between Turns

- Germany asked to renegotiate our sale of Dye and Incense to them for 26 LPT (we've been letting this deal ride for some time now). We cancelled the deal.

1265 A.D. (D+1)

- Signed Embargoes with Greece, England, the Aztecs, Russia, Persia, the Iroquois, Japan, India, and Zululand against Germany (Greece is the critical one - to prevent Germany from getting any rubber)
- Sold Replaceable Parts to Greece for a whopping 193 LPT + 17 L + their WM
- Sold Replaceable Parts to Japan for a whopping 105 LPT + 183 L
- Sold Replaceable Parts to England for a whopping 102 LPT + 127 L + their WM
- Sold Replaceable Parts to Germany for 337 L + their WM (the idea for this trade was to empty Germany's treasury and give them a tech that would be sold to them anyway... the embargoes had already been signed to prevent Greece, or another power, from giving germany any rubber).

Between Turns

- Japan contacts us to continue Peace Treaty and we accept
- Germany contacts us to continue Peace Treaty and we refuse.
WE ARE NOW AT WAR WITH GERMANY
- Iroquois contact us to continue Peace Treaty and we accept.

1270 A.D. (D+2)

- We gave Aztecs Dyes for a military alliance against Germany and their WM
- Aztecs declare war on Germany!
- We sold Replaceable Parts to India for 33 LPT + 87 L + WM and packaged the deal with a military alliance against Germany.
- India declares war on Germany!
- Persia paid us 12 lytons and their WM for a miltary alliance against Germany
- Persia declares war on Germany!

NOTE: Thud's Bill passed during the Zulu War to allow the Foreign Affairs Minister to sign any and all embargoes still applies (this was brought up by Kloreep during the chat).
NOTE: The Senate Bill that gave authorizations for alliances and MPP's stated that alliances with England and Greece against Germany could only be signed if we did not already have MPP's with them. Since we have MPP's with them, we did not sign military alliances with them.

The only problem is that this is the war BEFORE we take England and Greece. After that we will have that ugly green between our northern parts that we must simply eliminate. Don't make me come out of retirement to get us to fight another war.

Then again... does Germany have Motorized Transportation yet? If they get panzers, they'll likely get their GA soon, which could make things a tad more... difficult... for us. I'd recommend concentrating on them first, then deal with Rome later.

Noone has Motorized Transportation. Germany probably won't be getting this tech in the near future because their own research will be crippled by war weariness and lack of luxuries (thanks to the pact against Germany, and we'll soon add to that by disconnecting Berlin from their trade network), and noone is going to sell them anything, unless they choose to betray the alliance.
Besides, Motorized Transportation is still a few techs away, and even if Germany gets it their production will be so crippled by war weariness and the lack of luxuries that they won't be able to complete their Panzers in time. Besides, they have no rubber, and we will keep it this way.

Germany is 6-7 technologies away from Motorized Transportation... and even if they were to even obtain it, they have no source of rubber (we just ensured that...).

More to the point, however, GERMANY WILL BE DEAD BY THE TIME MOTORIZED TRANSPORTATION IS DISCOVERED

Yes, athough I wouldn't bet on Persia surviving this war.
Persia should present such a tempting target to Germany after the MPPs are activated that almost all of Germany's military units go after them so we can whalz in and take Germany's cities.

Nobody has Motorized Transportion, in fact it's at least seven techs away from everybody.

It turns out the Germany doesn't have any local Rubber sources. They won't be building Infentry, let alone Panzers.

Yes, the result of the poll was concentrate on Germany first.
