Something that bothered me about civ3 that it was very un-evil in its weaponry range. It's all very disney like.

In SMAC you could nerve gas people, rape their minds, labotemize entire cities, send brain eating worms after them, but 20,000 poeple to death, punish them in detention spheres, drown populations and basically be an oppressive evil bastard. Even your government could be nasty.

The cool thing about all this evil is that there were actual (UN) reprocusion of it.

Now my question is, for all of you in the know, will there be the option of being evil in RoN? I definately hope there is, because throught history part of being human is devizing evil ways of destroying your enemy. (just look at all the james bond movies )

Is there gonna be any kind of UN too? Or national forum at least were multiple civs can take part in a treaty or whatever? The diplomacy is my greatest fear for RoN, because looking at the screens it seems all the worlds are tiny and quick so there won't be much millenial strategy.

I'd like to use chemical gas attacks and some sort of biological attack. Gas was so prevelant in WW1 and in China during WW2. It's a shame that I haven't seen gas attacks in any games. Nukes are fun, but seemed out of place in EE. I don't understand how low range AAA can shoot down a B52... that's just dumb.

yeah, the nuke in EE was unrealistic, but at least very balanced

they made a "destroy all in range except Capitol" bomber that was slower and more vunerable to AA than convention bombers

so if AA are built to easily take out b52's but not b2s

I think these games in general need to have more emphasis put on realistic range, firepower, and vulnerability. I know from a game standpoint, that would be harder to create than the current RTS system... and probably would be less "beautiful" graphically. But I'm sick of games that just look good. I want realistic strategy... not the same old crap. AOE, AOE2, AOK, EE, AOM, and now RON... its ALL THE SAME

I think they should go back to the Panzer General mode and RTSify that. Panzer General 1 and 2 were the most realistic games I've ever played when it comes to specific histrical qualities and tactics of war material.

and it had hexagons which will always rock.
