It seems that MoO3 is extremely close to completion qouting gamespot
"Our preview build was accompanied by a final manual and the official strategy guide, which has already been released. Even the second play disc looked to be from a final, mass-production run. Only the install disc betrayed the game's still-beta status, as Quicksilver is still making some tweaks to the game's multiplayer stability. The single-player matches we tried out proved to be perfectly stable and reasonably polished"
seems preety close to me

id rather that the color sceme reflect your player color, i.e., you are playing green so your screens are green, you are purple your screens are purple, ect ect...

True, but, as most of the graphics are pretty simplistic, they could have given us some choice of color schemes. I would have preferred grey tones, for example, instead of the blue.
Should not have been too hard to implement. |
Oh, so you know exactly how thier UI engine was built? How the graphics were constructed?
And what colors do you suggest for a space strategy game? Pink? Purple? How about chartruese?
Those are pretty lively.
And as for your choice of gray tones-- I think they are using gray to indicated DISABLED buttons/options as do most people when designing user interfaces.
I find it really funny when people say "oh it shouldn't be THAT hard to do..." not knowing anything about programming, design project management or software engineering in general.
Those who cannot do, complain.

Um. Changing the color in the UI would NOT be hard. Come on. Change the color from 0.0, 0.1, 0.7 (which is a kinda pale blue with a little green) to anything else. Unless they're loading a texture, in which case it would be a simple matter to just provide other ui textures.
Its possible, however, that the option to change the ui color is there, and just no one has mentioned it yet. |
It is not a simple task to change the UI. We're not doing procedural coloration here, but a proprietary UI kit that uses image files in a really kind of tricky way. I've told folks before that they could 'mod' the UI shell if they want to, but be prepared for a world of time and grief in doing so. There are currently over 300 texture files being used in a very specific formatting process to make up the UI.
Simple? No. Time consuming, hell yes.
I'll forgive you the error of your assumptions however, seeing as you're from Walla Walla.

Hi there Xentax,
I was wondering if there was anyway I could post again at the IG forums, because I was kicked last week by Sencho. I made a remark about Chantz and his Greek Ancestry, and generalized Greeks as biased agaisnt Turks (which is not too far off the mark, because I'm half Greek, and my grandparents are pretty biased against Turks!), and then I sort of remarked that he himself looked a little Turkish, and so he probably loathed himself for it....I wasn't trying to be mean derogatory or anything. Anyways, that was about a week and a half ago. So could you make it happen? By the way, no warning or red flag letting me know to cool it?
