How far from the tree did you fall? Full PM-box? Change here!

And for those that do not know it, an old saying about children and their parents is that "the apple does not fall far from the tree"

That out of the way: how much do you resemble your parents? And not only physicaly, but emotionally, in termperment, opinion, so forth and so on. Are you just like them, nothing like them, and do you care?

So, for myself:

I bear a very strong resemblence to my father, with some of my maternal grandfather's features as well. I share a bookishness and intellectualism with both my parents, and my mother's perfectionism, but I lack their openess and sociability (both my parents gathered huge numbers of friend and aquiantances anywhere they went). They were both social scientists ( A sociologist and an economist) and I have become a Political scientist (makes for a very fun library). As for politics, I don't really know my mother's politics; I am politically to the right of my father, who was a very ardent socialist/communist and hung in those circles.

As for what I make of it: I like it. I have a great relationship with my mother and I greatly admired my father, so the fact that I resemble them is a proud one.

What about the rest of ya?

I don't resemble (physically or mentally) anyone else in my family.

My mother's a CA and loves math. Doesn't look anything like me.
My father's an engineer and loves math. Doesn't look anything like me.

I'm in computer science and I hate math. Both of my parents are very extroverted, I'm very introverted.

I guess politically I'm similar to my dad, except more socially liberal...

I do look like a cross between my parents.

But emotionally I don't think I resemble them. I'm absolutely nothing like my mother and don't know my father very well.

Physically I most resemble my mother, other than the fact that I'm taller than her and am quite a bit darker than she is (her hair is (or was) brown while mine is black, she freckles and burns while I just tan). I also got her genes for going prematurely gray, hooray. (She was almost completely gray by the time she was 30, and if I keep going at my current rate I'll probably have her beat by about five years).

In temperament I've got a bit from both parents. I've got my mom's mind for trivia and my dad's mind for math, I've got my mom's patience and my dad's stubbornness (not that my mom's not stubborn in her own right, so I've got kind of a double dose of stubbornness). I'm more extroverted than both of them, but not by a lot. Politically we're all pretty near the center, one way or the other.

Avatar Enlargement: We've got the solution

chegitz: This probably explains the cause of your own political inclination.

Anyhow: Physically I probably have more from my father. My nose, fronthead and my hair must come from my father's side - I'm 23 now and already start to go bold... Beside that my body is in between leptosome and athletic, like my father (and definitely not like my mother)
The lower part of my face is more like my mother. This weird mixture explains maybe why I'm so darn ugly.

In terms of psychological condition I'm a blend. I'm less choleric than my mum and less phlegmatic than my dad and equally depressive as both of them... I'm more conciliant than both of them - that's probably what I had to learn when they argued and shouted heavily with each other when I was a child. I need very much consent and peace in my surrounding and try to reconcile much.

In behavior, my mum rather wins. I'm not a cleaning-up freak and chaotic, and have to force myself to be productive and not to fall back to laziness.

Intellectually I profited from both of them. My mum's vast lexical knowledge in a great variety of cultural aspects together with the more pragmatic, analytical and sometimes cynical approach to intellectual problems from my father's side made me fit for my studies.

Poltically and in religious issues my mum changed quite a bit into my direction. Before, she used to be conservative (even a party member...) and pseudo-christian. Now she rather votes the social democrats or the green party, (in our hometown even the communists!)
My dad doesn't talk too much about his political stance, but I think he more often votes conservative and is doesn't give a damn about religion. He isn't a "confessing" atheist either.

Che's was great.

Politically I can't really say, because my parents don't know enough about the subject. But in looks and personality I'm dead on.

Dad's the music-math-philosophy type and Mom's the nurturing-arts-pramgatic type. My bro is like my Dad, my sis is like my Mom, and I'm a split.
