With all these nice units popping up i couldn't resist editing some

Left to right: D Squadron 22 SAS, 42 Marine Commando, SAS 66m rocket, 2 Para.

The SAS units are from the raid on Pebble Island in which the regiment took out about 12 Argentinian aircraft.

Let me know what you think

Hmm, I know that I always do this when modern Australian infantry are posted, but there are a couple of things wrong with those (very nice) units. Namely:
*All the Australian troops involved in the war were armed with the M4 Carbine, not the Steyr (this is because they were all special forces, and the SF don't think that the Steyr is a satisfactory weapon for their use).
* As Iraq was a hot war zone, the soldiers kept their helmets on at all times, though the SAS patrols did wear Arab-style headgear during their vehicle mounted patrols.

There are heaps of good photos of Australian troops during the war at: www.defence.gov.au/opfalconer/gallery%20archive.htm

They look great. 4 RAR is part of the Royal Australian Regiment, and only uses that Regiment's badge. The badge is:

BTW, I had a go at making an Australian SAS patrol vehicle a few years ago, but it sucked. Making a weird looking 6 wheel land rover thingy is harder then it would seem

I'll think I'd leave the Australian shield as it is. If I use the RAR's insignia, it will be diminished and can be passed off as any Commonwealth units. I'd like to retain the "Australianess" of the Aussies.

I'm sure its better than it seems. As they say, you are your own harshest critic.

Anyway, Iraq war units seem to have opened a hornet's nest. Its a rather sensitive issue to some so I'll refrain from any in the near future.
