We have received two messages from Vox Controli, or rather two letters well structured, and even sophisticated, compared with the average MP circulating in the diplomatic area.
Except the directions not frankly clear about their location, directions recalled in the second letter without any further information, the main part of those letters are the readings of the One Book. These texts are carefully worded, and have not been improvised when writing the letters. This One Book can be just a folkloric item, opened for fun in our relation.
But it can also be a hidden message. Take the first verse of Controllians 6 :
?In the beginning, there were many voices. And it was chaos. And it was not good.?
Now, replace many by seven.
And the One Commandment says :?Thou shall speak with One Voice?.
And the Fifth verse : ?there was One Voice, and One Voice Only. And there was order. And it was good.
One can understand that Vox Controli has a mission to unite the seven civs, and that they found appropriate to let us know it.
In the second letter, we learn that The Voice begat Willy, Tim and Thadeus. The warriors are begotten by The Voice; this is the highest status in any primitive civ. And when they go into the wilderness (where is the chaos), the shadow recedes, and the light shone upon the land. With this interpretation we can understand why BetaHound get a tringle everytime he reads it: this evocates victories of the sons of The Voice. And they wanted to tell us.
So, they can be peaceful roleplayer, or tortuous fanatics. I would bet on the second option.

By what I felt, they want to win conquest victory, even though Eli said they would get the victory that was possible to them. The very choice of the Persians is a hint to this...
The fact is... they cannot defeat all at a time... so what? GoW ain´t going for a diplomatic victory, but we need aliances, especially one that seems so fruitfull for now.
I don´t think there are all those deliberated subliminar messages, maybe some, but not all...
Anyway, I think that this book is a tentative of approach...
they are trying to make of us a support from wich to conquest some other people... as long as we keep our eyes open and our minds thinking, our legs walking and our our mouths speaking, we shall be able to avoid tricks and crush ´em bloodyb*st*rds at any time...

I have my belief, sirs, from travelling extensively in the Orient, that the people there are all mad. I encountered this in Arabia, and tales I heard of Persia, and their One Voice are simply too horrible to imagine. It is my contention that they have a deficiency in Vitamin S, or Vitamin Squid, which our alchemists claim to be a very important vitamin when it comes to our faculties. Without it, we may all be mad. However, the Voice seems to have given the people a regulated dietary menu, and squid isn't on it. Thus, the people of Vox Controli, and the Voice itself, are all totally insane.
Of course, then, if we know that they are all madmen, how can we trust them? They listen to a voice that comes from behind a screen, and actually follow it, for no reason at all. I contend then also that they only follow it because they are mind controlled because a lack of the Vitamin Squid leaves the people with brains softer than average, and therefore more prone to takeover. And so, the Vox Controli controls a race of people, who fear nothing, and can do what he will with them. He fears no retribution because a people who can't think cannot have a fault. Therefore, Vox Controli is truly of one voice and mind, and must be destroyed.

Nay! Nay! We cannot smuggle them squids, for Vox Controli is not only controlled by One Voice, but by the Great Eye, lidless, wreathed in flame. It sees all. We couldnt smuggle them squid. 10,000 men could not do it. It is folly!
As for the origin of the Vox Controli, the people believe that it is the product of the Big Mouth.
I agree with Senor Clemente also. Vitamin Squid deficientcy certainly has something to do with it, but there are far greater, more foul thing in the deep places of the world...and in the land of Persia. They are, I say again, all mad. Whether it is by lack of squid, or anything else, they are all mad. I hope we can convert them to the true faith, but if not, they are simply far too dangerous to be left alone.

Who says anything about smuggling squid? Why can't our merchants just go to the local marketplaces and sell it as an exotic delicacy? Alas, I don't understand commerce very well.

The one voice shall be overcome with the thousands of voices of all Spania combined!
The mere fact that they dare to claim land in the name of another ruler than the great Despot, and that thtey claim a voice to talk in the name of all the spirits is a blaspheme!
We must grow strong, benefitting from them as we see fit, then smashing their evil and frreing the poor citizens from the opression and barbarie!

We can't sell it in the markets, young master Pikesfan. You see, the eye of the Vox Controli sees all, and he forbids squid. I think it had something to do with an occasion when he was just a little voice, and he got some calamari down the wrong tube, and in effect embarrased himself in front of everyone. Then, he cursed the stuff, and swore it off forever, and his mind became corrupted. The Dark Lord then took over Vox Controli, and it was only a final alliance of elves and men that drove him back into the dark land of Mordor, where Vox Controli now lives. Shame them elves are all in Valinor these days, otherwise we might just have recruited them to make the final drive. Ah well.
The free peoples of Middle Earth (our part of the world, for it is, from our maps, roughly near the middle), should indeed try and unite to force out these evil minions, and their dark neighbors of China also, for they are totally evil. Some say that these Chinese ride horses (in fact, they call themselves Riders), or if those are hard to find, they ride olliphants. Perhaps, one day we might drive away these warmongers, or horse lords as they are sometimes known. Perhaps an alliance should become an empire, one that controls all this land to drive away the forces of darkness, and our glorious Togas should be crowned Emperor of the West.

Those elves and their fleeing capacities!
In fact the ring of the voice has corrupted his soul and mind, but as for now he doesn´t sees us as an enemy. The eye of the voice thinks he can befriend and corrupt us as it is said that he did with the great sage Saruman. We must get it´s weapons and any oportunities we have to befriend the voice and take out the ring of the voice, or else all efforts in killing Saurjon the Miller shall be fruitless.

Quite, quite, quite.
It is my fear that an alliance of orcs and men will most probably be made between those monstrous Chinese and the Vox Controli of the land of Mordor where the shadows lie. Those two together would be undestructable, and they themselves are by far the most evil race of men or animals the world has ever seen. If they cannot be destroyed, the power of their hate will darken out Middle Earth, and the Vox Controli, with it's flaming eye, shall drive out the squids forever, imprisoning his people in a permanent state of madness and servitude. This cannot be allowed to happen.
And hey! When did Saruman the Wise abandon reason for madness?
