Each of our explorer groups moved further away.

TEG moved west, uncovered more of the valley with a piece of forrest and game.
Madrid moved north-west, uncovered more jungle and a clearing by the sea.
Magyars moved south-west and found a river valley and an additional lux!

The worker was put to work on a road on the hills. This will take him 6 turns to complete, but there were no better orders to give at the time.

Madrid grows next turn. We will need an entertainer next turn.

Settler in 4 turns (actually 2 turns after city growth, but we'll lose 1 turn when we add entertainer UNLESS we take away the irrigated wheat with the entertainer. Not a bad option. I'd like the advice of the city governor on this issue.)

Bronze in 7. (may go down to 6 with city growth. We'll see.)

No sightings of any kind.

Man, we gotta get the settlers out - so many great sites! Northwest end of cow valley, with another river and game, and southwest on top of the spices would both be great sites!

There had been talk earlier of using the slider to combat the upcoming unhappiness.

That is not as bad as it could seem, because this tiled road can be used to reach Pamplona and by the warriors if we need to call them back early.

Very good lands to colonize at the west. We should send people there, but without forgeting that the ones that call themselves "Glory of War" are somewhere at our north.

Also, if we want to colonize the north/east we will need to clean all this jungle/forest. I think that for the moment the west lands are easier to colonize.

About the slider: If we can solve the problem with the slider then we will still receive the shields and food from that tile instead of using an entertainer. But this has to be seen when the next turn arrives.

Support Apolyton, buy Civilization III: Complete

you can check to see what effects the slider has on the pop at this moment, because all you need is one content changed to happy. That way, when Madrid Grows next turn, it will have 1 Happy, 1 Content & 1 Unhappy and it will be o.k.

[EDIT] Althought, with the additional pop to provide more trade, it should be able to be at a lesser % for the lux slider. [/EDIT]

[OOC]

Note to the Govenor of Madrid:

We could have moved the WF to 3-5 for the next 2 turns and have gotten the settler & pop increase at the same time, in 2 turns. THis is moot now, because the game has passed on. I wish that we had seen a screen shot of Madrid from last turn.....

We need to have 1 Mil Unit in each of the next two cities for size. I suggest that we build 2 Warriors next (quick and easy), then maybe a worker or settler, depending on what the pop is at that time.

With 1 mil unit, Madrid can have 3 productive and 1 Specialist (tax or Sci) and still grow, 2 Specilaist (1 Ent and 1 Tax/sci) and stagnate and produce 5 shields per turn (WF on 3-5-20 + Spec).

We'll see what Pamplona has for it's planned Infrastructure before we see what can be done about that.

Have I told you that I'm glad you're on our team, E_T?

It may be advisable to have an Edict about required screenshots from a turn, and maybe even to appoint an official "Painter" role. This person must be sent a pre-end turn save of the game so that they could then take all the necessary shots. The advantages to the painter role:
- consistent screenshots (which gets harder as our explored terrains grows)
- consistent file name/resolution/location

I bet Glory of War has great paintings! (Aro)

Increase Your PM Length

This is encouraging. Expansion is slated to begin in 4 turns, eh? I say let it come. More cities dedicated to the glory of the Spanish people will only do service to our glorious nation.

As for an entertainer, may I suggest using Senor I.E. Tamale and his band of jugglers, dancers, actors, comedians, tragedians, and singers? I have used them in the past for a symposium or two, and they really are splendid. Highly recommended, old boy.

As I don't have the Game, I have to rely on others to take the screen shots for me. THey can then e-mail them to me and I can work on the rest....

I'll see what I can come up with on "centers" for the shots. THis way, you take the shots from a center point and just save them as what ever.

I'm working on the present save for now.

Put an end to popups!

moving the entertainment slider up on the turn that we become size 3 prevents the unhappiness. I ran the scenario and found nothing amiss except for the loss of one gold added to the treasury for that turn.

A very promising turn for new sites for cities. We need those settlers I hope we will be able to use the next city for military units and escorts while Madrid remains hard at work churning out settlers to fill the surrounding lands... or the other way around.

It was another boring day of boring food, especially as there were no fresh squid in this part of the world. Suddenly the Magyars pointed to some plants and got all excited. "Spices! Spices!" they shouted. "What are spices?" I asked. What's so good about plants? "Cook them with your meat!" "What? Eat meat and plants together?" "Try them!" So I did, and did it make food more exciting. We must get a supply of these spices for ourselves.

P.S. We need to start naming these rivers, now that there are so many of them.

Um, um, um! Might I be allowed, O Great and Glorious Government, to buy an extra large stock of these aforementioned spices and start using them for the greater glory of mankind by sathring them madly over the seafood that I sell? Remember, all the proceeds go to the military, except the ones that go to unnamed locations and stay there until used.
