Congratulations, my son is 2 on Boxing day. It's worth it even if Baby Taz insists on using me as a climbing frame. Try to get as much sleep as possible before your SO comes home with the little bundle of sleeplessness (it doesn't get any better).

Congratulations. If you're anything like me, it'll be the greatest thing ever to happen in your life!

Are you going to be in the delivery room? I was there supporting my wife - it was pretty cool, what with the blood and pain and all. Actually, Laura had a pretty simple and basic delivery, induced, timed, and all that - it was no more than 5 hours from inducing labor to delivery, and the drugs really, really helped. Laura took some too.

Otoh, some of us at Apolyton are very squeamish and... well, I was going to say "girllike" but the girls go through this, so these "men" are less than girllike. Pathetic, really.

I do remember thinking at one point: "Well, there goes the sex life!" Freakin' A, that was something I didn't need to see! The baby's head was coneshaped, and she was covered with this nasty, grey whey-like substance. She was beautiful.

You HAVE to post the birth picture of the baby!!!! If you're hospital is like mine, they'll take a photo of the child in the first hour (in her/his outfit). Scan it and post it - we wanna see!

many hospitals these days put the pictures on the internet for you to see these days too

I hope you'll have an easier time than I had, when my girlfriend gave birth to my son Daniel (6 months by now).
She was 3 days over and she was 18 hours in the delivery room, when finally they decided to make a Cesarian section...
The outcome was a +4kg monster, but it was worth every pain attack (- or so says my girlfriend. )
