	Unit Names Support Apolyton, buy Alpha Centauri

I just discovered that you can rename all units.

I remember we had names for the warriors, but they werent implemented in the game(the warrior name was "Warrior" and not "Willy the Warrior", for example).

IMO we should rename all the units, but what names will we give them?

yeah I knew you could rename units, just have never done it.

Maybe we could have some kind of naming convention. Because I don't want to confuse warrior and immortal units together and such.

So maybe one type of name for warrior units, another type of name for Immortals etc. Yeah I'm an old navy guy and we had different types of names for battleships and carriers (either states, or president names). Granted you can always look at the icon to see what unit is it, but some units look too similar for my tastes.

But I'm not very good at these stuff, I hope we have creative minds here.

Are we suggesting that warriors for instance - have regular first names. Archers would be names after animals. Immortals after, say greek letters. That kind of thing.

Or maybe we want to drop an initial in front of the name -(warrior) W-Willy, (archer) A-Lion, (Immortal) I-Alpha - for further distinction. Or if we don't want to have to dream up names - simply w-1, a-3, i-19 --yes, a bit like bingo.

I'm easy with any naming convention. And have no fear - I can be creative, and have a good dictionary.

I'll leave the naming convention to you all, since it really doesn't matter to me one way, or the other....but I think it would be cool to have an Immortal named after me! (The Immortal Wittlich who guards Wittlich City has a nice ring to it...)

We can name Immortals from our team members. Esp. since they are our uu, it makes more sense.

Excellent idea!

Now - when we get past 6 (or is it 5, does anybody know?) what do we do. Family members, pets?? Your mother-in-law's middle name?

They will most likely move in pairs or bigger groups. So we can have the Dissident Division with Diss 1-3 Immortals in it, etc.

I just checked the 3050BCE save and apparently we have two warriors with the same name. Tim the Warrior and Tim.

Diss had indicated that he had problems with the names.

1. Willy the Warrior
2. Tim the Warrior
3. Thadeus the Warrior
4. Rodney the Warrior

.. for whoever plays the game next.

BTW Eli, how do you change a unit's name in the game?
