3250AD City Site Proposals Remove this text

[OOC] I've only made up the one, so far. I'll try to do some work on more, later today.

The number of the sites is more for labeling purposes, than to show the order of the building of the Cities.

Good work Señor Tamali!

While the other cities are still a bit far in time, I agree with placements 1 and 2 and in that order. Our workers should irrigate the two cows to encourage the growth of city 1 (Pamplona?) and convert it in a settler/worker factory first and a successfull populated city later.

City 2 (Barcelona?) would give us acces to both the sea and the useful luxury. Its population is not likely to grow as rapidly as in Madrid or Pamplona, but one day when our wise man discover how to build ships that don't sink after five minutes in water, we will be able to build expeditions who depart from this city.

Just one more thing: I beleive that pop-rushing a temple in city 1 would pay back quickly with the benefits of the second cow. Also remember that temples cost half for us because we are religious.

Full PM-box? Change here!

I think we should build them in the order

1 Pamplona
2 Barcelona
5
4
3
6
7
8

3 is in the middle of the jungle and 6 is practically in the middle of the desert. Both sites are poor for early settlement. 4 has the same luxury as 2 and so would not make us any happier. We should think of our own happiness first before we consider picking up things for everybody else’s. 7 and 8 are very far away and might have to be settled from 2 and 3. 6 can be settled from 2.

I agree with E_T's order OTHER THAN that I would switch #3 and #4.

Otherwise,

I was thinking 1, 2, 5, 4, 3.

And perhaps 1 one tile to the SW to make early use of both cows and to not lose future bonus sheilds from the bonus tile.

That would mean shifting city 4 one to the SW to maximize the tiles. Its to far in advance to speak of 6, 7 ,8 . We may find someplace better in the area near city 6, once the fog is gone.

Buenas Tardes, Mi Amigos.

Names for the cities Support Apolyton buy from Amazon

I compared a physical map of Spain with our geography to think of suitable names:

1 Pamplona
2 Barcelona
3 Valencia
4 Saragossa
5 Málaga
6 Granada
7 Valladolid
8 León

We can call the River of the Valley of the Cows the Ebro, and the river of the Valley of the Spices the Guadalquivír.

Of course, Oliverfa probably has better suggestions...

Support Apolyton, buy Civilization III: Complete

This looks good to me.

The order I'd suggest would be:

1.
2.
5.
4.
6.
3.
7.

Señor pikesfan, your sugestions seem to me a good ones, except that the spanish spelling for Saragossa it's Zaragoza.

Other than that, I'm happy with them

Help yourself to an AD-FREE life

My ordering:

1, 2, 4, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8

(E_T, they will now forever be referred to by their numbers )

Question: Are we just going to follow the RL names of the Spanish cities, the game names of the Spanish cities, OR are we going to make up names?

E_T, you have thought out the placement of the citysites very well, but shouldn't we make more use of the rivers? They give us a defencebonus when we place the cities at the "Madrid-side" of the river. We can use them as a kind of castle moat. I also think that we can make our cities harder to capture if we try to place them on hills as they also give a defencebonus. Placing the cities on strategic locations may give us a big advantage over our enemies, esp. GoW, when they might attack us.
Comments please.

We can’t put Pamplona on the Madrid side of its river for obvious reasons. If we put 4 Zaragoza on the Madrid side there would be way too much overlap with Madrid.

We can still use the defensive bonus while not having the city on the river.

but...that involves defending the ENTIRE length of the river.

What they will say about our cities Increase Your PM Length

If you want power, go to Madrid.
If you want a good time, go to Pamplona.
If you want to dress well, go to Barcelona.
If you want to eat well, go to Málaga.
If you want sand, go to Granada.
