Ubinia limmiting civil rights in anti-corporate tactic! Beef exporters beware! Help yourself to an AD-FREE life

"I will be passing an edict shortly to ban meat-eating in Ubinia to show that we will not tolerate these evil corporations exploiting the land and manipulating the people. "

This was uttered earlier today by Head of State Osweld, a known antagonist of the freedom loving Federation of Imperial Republlics.

In a move to force Lord Chancellor Capone's hand over the issue of the +/- 30 pro-animal-anarchic-liberatarian terrorists now serving time in minimum security detention centers in the Imperial Republic of (
censored ) .

Ubinia's forced vegetarianism is an atrocity to mankind! This violates man's civic right to eat meat. It will also damadge beef exports of many Apolyton nations.

Stop oppressing your people at the expence of anti-corporationalism! This will only add to the grievances that the FIR brings to the court in the comming days...

Lord Chancellor Aahz Capone
FIR, Apolyton

I must say I agree with the decision of President Osweld - a vegetarian populace will be healthier and corporate powers will have less of a hold over the people.

I have noticed your nation becoming more right-wing, capone...

I do not think this is a tactic employed by a free land however. If Ubinia is free, and has civil rights, why are they forcing vegitarianism? And healthier, I have yet to see a decent report finding that, it is hard to find protein on a vegetarian diet.

Governor of Centralis: I shall provide you with 10,000 Akirian Roses if your scientists provide us with a report on vegetarianism, and its effects on health.

Akiria, from my biology lessons I can tell you now already the effects of vegetarianism. Not all vitamines necessary for a healthy life can be found in vegetables and fruit or can be produced by the body itself. To be really healthy, you need to eat meat at least once a month.

My soon-to-be-implemented ban on meat eating will not hamper civil librities at all. Quite the contrary! It will loosen the grip that corporations have on my people, and free them from the oppresive dietary-dictates of the wealthy buisnessmen and foreign corporations who profit off the exploitation of animals.

I don't expect the FIR to understand this, though, when they would jail people for holding such an opinion!

No, he jailed peopel for damaging property. there beliefs were irrelevant. And I fail to see how stopping your people doing something can be helpign their rights. Are there no vegetable corporations that will take over from the meat ones? But then, it is your nation, and your decision (and on your head be it )

Thank you, Drogue.

I can understand that you want to keep the private industry from controling too much life, Osweld. However vegtable growing companies can also become powerhungry. The meat industry, of which FIR is a big importer, can be government run if you like.

In the Federation we have enoughs laws governing the extent to which corporations can influence government. And the Welfare program is well stocked along with health and education. It may get a bit right-wing here Red Jon, but thats the way the people vote. Don't worry though, the constitution here is holy as hell.

btw, on the menu tonight, roasted pygmy gazelle...

As you should well know, private enterprise is illegal in Ubinia, so any sort of food producer - meat or vegetarian - would already be illegal, anyways! Food is grown by all the people of Ubinia, and distributed as needed. Most of the meat either comes from black-market trout farming, or foreign corporations who come from barbaric lands where torturing and killing animals for consumption is acceptable.

So, as you can see, I am protecting my people from these despicable corporations who would manipulate them into eating such foul food, without them even realising what is done to make it.

If you want to eliminate corporate power over your people, why not set up a state meat monopoly? As it is, you are merely depriving citizens of their liberties and of what they need for a healthy diet.

Not only is meat produced through the exploitation of animals, it is also a bad influence on society. The taint of meat is quite evident by some people's belief that it is required for a healthy diet. Why, our fair and beutiful pygmy gazelles eat nothing but grass and berries, and are the epitome of healthiness! a fine example to all.

We must lead by example - the FIR can jail liberationists and allow corporations to opress their people, but in Ubinia both the land and the people will always be free from corporate grasps!

In Ubinia, they do. Centralis must be a strange place indeed, if their people are not animals. But here in Ubinia, we are all made of flesh and blood.

Why do you slander the good name of Ubinia?
Ubinians have the highest degree of freedom, and our first priority is keeping the grasps of corporation out of our fair land, and our people safe from the evil and manipulative ways of corporations!

Meanwhile, you would look the other way as the FIR jails it's people for fighting against the tyrany of corporations. I did not realise Ubinia was neighbors to such barbarous countries!

*SIGH* Pygmy Gazzelles are not the same as humans. They don't eat the same as humans. Therefore, they cannot be used as an example to support a human diet.

If your people don't want to eat meat, they are free not to do so. It is not your place to forbid them from doing so.

They are jailing people for arson, which results in the destruction of property and the endangering of human lives. These are not 'freedom fighters' but terrorists.

King Giovanni of Wine condemns Ubinia's force vegetarianism.
Meat is much needed by a human body as a source of protein, plus meat just taste much better than vegetables. (And meat also is very good and healthy if you drink some Red Wine with it).

I would ban mammalian meat because it is the most unhealthy. If it was an option, I would ban all meat except seafood, the only healty meat. Humans are tecnically Omnihebivores, Omnivores that eat mostly plant products but eat a very SMALL amount of meat. Our ancestors rarely ate meat products untill the invention of stone tools 2.5 million years ago. before that we ate fruit, vegetables that come from roots, (carrots, onnions, etc.) and grains. We only need meat for the making of certain brain protiens.

Excellent!

Less competition in the meat-based agriculture industry

The Commonwealth of Lavor is planning to offer our national animal, "the cute furry thing", in various forms at dinner tables around the region once that issue comes up. Word has it that they're delicious!

Indeed. You will note that the time at which our ancestors started eating meat is concurrent to the time at which their mental capacity become respectable.... seafood being a strong part of that diet... diets including more meat and higher intelligence as concurrent developments.... coincidence?

No! In fact, leading theories on the subject suggest that the increase of meat in our ancestors' diets is directly related. As heard in evolutionary biology classrooms around the world, it was the lack of a significant source of meat for brain proteins that had been holding our ancestors back all of that time

So there ya go.

WRONGO-

Humans eating a lot of meat is a recent occurance, it is the only highly available food product above 50 degrees North. If you look at most Hunter-Gatherer societies in the African Savanna you see that that the women ring home a lot more vegetables (about 10 times more) than the men bring home meat. A lot of the "meat" amino acids can also be found in legumes, so vegans don't get dumb.
