	Prognostications of a Born-Again MOOer Avatar Enlargement: We've got the solution

Recently I've gotten back into the MOO phenomenon, after installing MOO2 for the first time in years. Here are several predictions for MOO3:

-Master of Orion 3 will ship in January (and if I had to give a specific day, I'd say: Jan 13.)
-Some of cool features will be cut (custom ships, colors, refitting, etc) but they'll be replaced by some pretty spankin' new features (the addition of the senate alone makes me salivate in anticipation of all that political intrigue) and surprizes.
-Everyone will stop their complaining once the game is actually released ( ) for they will realize how much the game truly layeth the smacketh down.
- The world will bow down under the galactic might of my Emp....

Errr.. ignore that last one.

It can't possibly come out Jan. 13th. For that it would already have to be gold by now. And at the moment there are holidays everywhere. Earliest date possible (although not very likely) is end of January... ~20th.

Unless they've learned their lesson. They could quite conceivably wait until after the game is gold, has gone off for duplication, stockpile a few hundred thousands copies and THEN announce the game has gone gold.

My local EB store said earlier this week they received notification MOO3 went gold and the expected delivery date is 15 January. That is, of course, unconfirmed since the QS MOO3 web site is (conveniently?) down so they can move over the holidays. Perhaps we will have a New Years surprise?

Last rumer I heard from my local store is it will be available on January 15th. Just rumer is all.

I'd be a little skeptical of the rumors at this late date. With all the complaining, name calling, and conspiracies floating about, don't you think that even if they're moving someone would have posted to the IG forum?

I would say that they could contact Mark at the very least and have him post it going gold.
I am sure they have many contacts at places like Gamespot, Avault and others to get the word out.
Come Monday it would have to be announced if it was the case otherwise, I would ignore it.

This may seem niave, but what does gone GOLD mean?

Such and such amount of copies sold? Or that the game is final?

Gone Gold is used to denote that the final cut has been built and burned to a master that is sent to some facility to burn the Cd's that will go in the boxes.

I'm cautiously optimistic. I'll be thrilled and joyous (plus the jig) if the game actually ships out in mid-January. If not, I won't rant, I won't snap and I certainly won't complain. I'll probably just start a new post with a new guess as to a shipping date. It's may be a highly-anticipated title, but its still just a game. Nothing to get those britches in a twist over, right?

Call me a pessimist, but I think that the game will not ship 'till february. Not late feb. though.

I estimate (guess ) that the game goes gold in the last week of january, and ships week 2 of february.
