I was playing PTW ( original version, haven't patched yet, but didn't see this in the patch changes ) and I had about 20+ bombers in one city after finishing out a war. I had a carrier with 2 bombers currently there in the ocean. I did the "move units of same type in stack" to rebase to the carrier. Every one of the bombers moved to the carrier. Although the excess ( 16 or so ) bombers wouldn't move with the carrier when I moved it, I could execute missions from them from the ocean tiles. They would return and be able to execute missions the next turn. As long as a carrier had one free space left, I could move as many bombers as I wanted into it.
I haven't tried this with fighters, and this is my first PTW game that has gotten as far as bombers. Has anyone else encountered this, or would someone mind testing it in an game or something? I can upload the save file if needed.
