Hey - 5 is OK. It's been working well so far. 6 would be Ok too.

I was trying to think if there is anybody left from the demo game - but it looks like they all have joined one team or another. I guess that is why you are hunting in the OT.

Wasn't aware of that. Now that you mention it, I had not seen your names on the civ3 demo game forums. I had originally assumed that you recruited the names from there. I noticed the team from the civ3 home page. I joined because it was the smallest. And I'm glad that I joined.

since we are working so well right now, I would prefer to have people join (if anyone does, and I am not sure if anyone should) who those of us in the team think will work well with us and add soemthing to the team

I would be perfectly fine with it jsut being the 5 of us, but it would be sort of nice to have 6 so if someone gets banned

yeah I came in from off-topic. I wasn't involved the democracy game. I posted in the civ-3 general, and civ-3 ptw. but not a whole lot. Also civ3-strategy occasionally. pretty much the same forums I post at now.

And yeah I saw Jon's post in off-topic. I spend a lot of time there. One reason why I'm not an emporer yet (along with 2 pcr's). But I'm very close now.

I use to just post in the Civ3 section (I was a part of the list), but than it was a long time tell the game would come out, so I went to the OT (when Iw as a warlord) and have stayed there since (I check on the Civ3 forums occasionally, as wella s the Civ2 multiplayer ones)

I was initially at OWO and the early forums (summer 97) for alpha

That's not a bad idea, jon. I would like to know what you did to get in the hall f fame, or year end yearbook, or something like that. Came across a discussion of that sort sometime ago, and your name popped up.

You mentioned DanS. Isn't he one of the 'owners' of the site. Hey - that would be OK.

But - does he know civ3 well?

Well - what about one of them - do they play civ3? (I assume as much) Probably the bigger question is do they have time?

Diss - I have to be honest - I have SMAC but have never played it. Nor civ 1 or 2 for that matter. Got started with civ3 and Apolyton's strategy threads. Have them all printed out, and well read. That's why I think it is great that we are up against a team comprised of the authors of many, if not most of those threads.

But - they may know lots about the game mechanics (that's the easy part), and about tackling the AI (that was the harder part, but this a whole new ball game.

Sorry - sort of drifted there.

Guess I should finish by saying congrats to Dissident for making the SMAC hall of fame.

to be honest i have been very busy latley. Also the game is always boring at first. So i will probaly come back in two months or so. Anyways I will drop bye every so often to post. But do what you want kick me, ban me, suspend me till i come back i really dont care

OK - I was going through a number of the civ3 strategy threads - and came across a number of names that I'm sure you guys know, who appear to know the game well, and off the top of my head, I don't think are on other teams.

Aeson, war4ever, absimiliard, David Weldon, DanS, rpodos.

Any thoughts?
