	3000 BC Trade Offers Help yourself to an AD-FREE life

Just an update, and any possible suggestions welcome...

GoW has offered the Wheel and Warrior Code, and Roleplay has offered Alphabet. This means we have as many techs as GoW, and Roleplay has (at least) 1 more than us. Any suggestions on deals? The techs we have that GoW doesn't are Pottery and Bronze Working, and Roleplay has every one of our techs. I'm going to see what I can get from GoW and see if I can trade anything to Roleplay after that...

Oh, I've also PMed both teams to open up communications.

Oh, and check out the Science Screen, and the research cost screen in the Editor. If the research cost of Warrior Code + Wheel is (roughly) that of Pottery + Bronze Working, go for a trade. I can't access the game right now, but I might check later.

We traded succesfully with GoW: Warrior Code (research cost: 3) and The Wheel (4) for Bronze Working (3) and Pottery (2). A very profitable deal!

They offered Horseback Riding (5) for Iron Working (6) as soon as we both have those techs.

Espana (Roleplay) offered us Alphabet (5), but we could not offer anything in return. We need to check whether they need Warrior Code or The Wheel.

They have neither of those techs. Jdjdjd sent me a PM just now about the possibility of trading, and I replied, so we should be getting an offer from them soon. A very good set of turns recently.

We could try to trade it for WC, but I feel there is too much difference in value between the two techs. The Wheel is more realistic.

An idea: Offer WC and Wheel for Alphabet and some gold. The combined value of our techs is 7; Alphabet is 5. Some gold-- say, around 20 or 30-- would make up the difference.

Alternatively, wait until we get Horseback Riding from GoW, and trade it to RP for Alphabet.

Do you really think we should wait 10 turns for that?

And besides, now and then, Iron Working will be much more valuable than Alphabet... the only reason we need it is because it leads to a lot of other things. It's not really useful at all. Iron Working is one of the more important techs in the ancient era.

give RP wheel + warrior code for alphabet to show them we're loyal. then we can later trade a cheaper tech for a more expensive one with them. (they will be researching the governments won't they?)

Jdjdjd has informed me that they're not really interested in the Wheel due to the fact that they have to deal with so much jungle now. Understandable. He said that he wanted the possibility of Iron Working for it, and I explained that we still have a few turns to go, and that by then it would be 2 or 3 times as valuable as Alphabet (which we really don't have much need for), so I'm waiting for his response to it.

It appears that WC+Wheel for Alphabet is the best deal right now (even though they dont have much interest in the wheel). I don't want to wait for Iron Working for reasons mentioned above and they fact the Roleplay could potentially get it from someone else or a hut before then (unlikely, but not impossible).

Togas has informed me that they don't want the Wheel at all, and are coming up with a trade with GoW for Warrior Code.

So as it stands now, we sketched out a bit of a rough plan for the future: We trade Iron Working for Alphabet + 25 gold to start. Not a good deal, but it gets better. Horseback Riding (which we can get from GoW for Iron Working) for Writing, then Mysticism for Map Making. At that point we both make a bee-line for Monarchy techs. I think this is fair enough. We give them a bit with IW, and they give us a bit with Writing and Map Making.

NO it isn't. But it is still nedded to get into middle ages.

okay but it is still a tech that needs to be discovered at SOME point. I mean just because RP doesnt like the wheel doesnt mean they can avoid researching it.

Definitely save iron working to trade them for their second tech. Maybe they are going fro writing or something else thats more valauble. Since we have opened talk about tech buddying, we should try to figure out how we can give them iron working for something eles they are working on tech tree.

They are going for Writing right now.

The problem is that they don't want to trade Alphabet for anything we have now, and the same goes for NDE. We can't trade for Writing unless we already have Alphabet... that's the problem. I think that the plan Togas and I came up with is acceptable, even if we lose a bit from the first trade, we'll gain what we lose back from the next two (Writing + Map Making are much more valuable than Horseback Riding + Mysticism).

New info:

Togas has informed me that their deal with GoW might have gone south... it's possible that our tech advantage may stand. The offer of Wheel + Warrior Code + Iron Working for Alphabet + Writing has become a possibility again...

I'll have official verification of the situation in a couple days probably...

RP will need wheel to get Horseriding, they are probably trying to get it for free from us.

I think we need to try and keep a tech lead, as soon as we can.
We will get a free tech each era, so already have an advantage with that.

Maybe we can make conditions on trades, like only give RP iron working if they don't give it to anyone else.

Also, the only other Scientific civ is Persia (Vox), and it appears they may be on another continent. Our greatest advantage in this context will come with monotheism.

catching up on old news. Deal with GoW fell through? We have warrior code now. correct?

By the way, Is luxia name made by trip that refers to our continent? Since we cant agree on name continents with rest of the team (some teams still dont know whther they are on our continent or not), we should refer to the continent we live in as luxia for the private forum. Once we get to point where everyone has access to world map, we can start debating on what the universal continent name should be
