	civ3 and nvidia graphics card Support Apolyton, buy Civilization 2

i am trying to run civ3 ( not PTW ) with my nvidia tornado gforce 4 MX card and there is a problem.i can install the game fine and all but.... it plays the startup movie and flashes some numbers like the refresh rate is too high can ne1 give me any help plz

You either have to update your drivers, which fixed the same problem for me, or add some lines to your ini file. Sorry I don't know what exactly, but if you dig around, possibly very deep, you'll find a thread here that has the solution.

Yes, and it is www.Nvidia.com, where the drivers are. No problem with my GeForce type 2 card, but drivers for my old ATI card, may have corrupted some files. Also is DX Direct Draw and Direct 3D acceleration all the way on or up.

May have something to do with that.

Newer ATI cards must have better drivers for the game.
As they seem to work, but no problems with the Nvidia drivers, although not using the latest version (since I am running Windows 2000 Professional) but needed for Windows XP for the game.
