This post will deal with I. But feel free to use the rest of the thread to deal with "we". As in men.

I'm taking a stand against political correctness. I can't take it any more. I hate being blamed for crimes I did not commit.

Sure I have hormones and this causes me to desire women in a certain way, but that doesn't mean they have to act a certain way. Most women prefer to have more clothes on when they are near me, not less . And most women don't dress skimpy at all. They wear normal clothing. Only a small number dress in skimpy clothing. And they do this by choice. Do I need to put the dictionary entry for that word in? No one forces women to act a certain way to please men. They do this on their own. And no society doesn't do this either. I don't want to hear anyone says society forces women to do anything. Society expects certain things of men as well. Yet I don't act the way society expects men to act (although I probably should ). I act like an indiviudal with unique desires.

I'm reminded of an offpring song from the Smash album. We're not the ones... You know the rest.

I want Apolyton to use this thread to discuss how men supposedly make women act a certain way. And feel free to discuss the opposite. How do women supposedly force men to act? Sure I get turned on by women involuntarily as I mentioned in the Shakira thread. But that doesn't actually cause me to do things I normally wouldn't. As with case with the chick in her 40's with big boobs. Sure she gave me a stiffy, but that doesn't mean I would sleep with her. Although she never asked me to (I guess I can never really know unless she asked me). In either case it would still be a choice I make.

Someone said in the Shakira thread that it's men's fault women act like that.

Bring it on! I want some real flames! I want to hear that if the world had no men, there would be no war, and women would live in peace and harmony. Rug munching would be the #1 sport.

I don't think that men force women to dress in a certain way. If women dress to impress or seduce men, It's mostly because they're trying to gain a certain advantage by that. Women are not forced to wear anything. It's either for feeling good, or peer pressure from other women.

Giovanni: Yes, they want to attract men but that's just the tip of the ice burg. They also want to attract more men the the other girls. Better men, more athletic men, richer men, more powerful men and so forth. The thing is the guys only pay attention less then 20% of the time while girls are always comparing themselves to the other girls around them.

They are thinking "Is she prettier then I am, is her hair nicer then mine, what does her butt look like, look at how she bats her eye lashes..." ad infinitium. In other words girls' desires to out do each other has suplanted their desires to attract desirable men. This isn't always the case but it is very often the case.

Of course I'm repeating some of the pop psycho babble I heard in college so it may or may not be correct. Still it seems to fall in line with mine and my friends observations. Also I imagine girls like Shakira have had their behaviors set by a life time of societial norms so by the time they are famous they are just continuing their "normal" pattern.

also I think women do it if they have the bodies. I haven't seen Shakira (post a picture if you want guys ), but I think she has a decent bod.

And I think women like Shakira flaunt their bods in front of other women to kind of show their superiority (like how some guys flaunt their muscles or their brains). And thusly she likes the fact other women are envious of her. Kind of a power trip if you will. I'm just speculating, so don't be too hard on me if I'm wrong.

And think about it. Why do men show off their muscles (essentually their bods) to other men. To show off. It's all this competition we call life. I blame Darwin for this .

Men are inherently jack-asses... we are hormone-driven, etc. for evolutionary reasons... and though there is some good in this (ie- aggressiveness) it also makes many men, without proper education, into horny bastards...

women on the other hand are naturally good but (again) education (rather bad education) by society causes them to feel they need to be slutty

ahh Speer, what did I say in my first post about society causing women/girls to do stuff. I don't believe in it.

I accept the argument that evolution causes them to do things like this. (see the competition posts above).

And women are naturally good? I don't think I really need to adress that do I? I suppose it depends on your definition of good.

She's cute but at 5'2" and with only a high school degree I think most guys could do better, but, to each his own.

society does tell women to do certain things, but it's up to THEM to decide what they will and will not do. It is always, always, their final decision what they wear or how they act. Same with men.
