Do any of you know how much of a pain it is to apply to college, develop a degree plan and look for housing while you are living in Europe, and preparing to go further east on deployment?

Well, after two months of basically working my butt off over the phone and email, I have a degree plan. So, I want to know what you think. My major is history, and I am minoring in PoliSci. Granted, I am on course to be a pilot

Actually, I dont know if there will be conflicts. The program I am in requires that I have a full plan done before I go to college.

And the Physics is required, along with calc.

As I don't know that much about the american system and what you have in mind but considering your mix of history and polsci witch is not that far away from what I've read shouldn't it be better with a Principles Of Macroeconomics instead of microeconomics? I think it would suit better with the rest.

Taking Macro without understanding micro first is liable to be very dangerous. You will think you know econ...but be clueless about the fundamentals. Will be good enough to post silly arguments on Poly and that's about it.

Actually I sorta agree with you Floyd. But let me post some counter-arguments.

1. They are difficult and will stretch your brain.

2. They are the fundamentals of technical subjects...and so set you up if you ever move to anything technical, being a manager at Ford or the like.

3. They teach logical problem-solving skills.

4. You need to know that stuff as a submarine officer.

(I would add in freshman chem as well.)

Any way of getting out of those boring survey courses? When you get to school, talk to your adviser and see what they can do, especially if you have some AP creds to back you up. With only 11 courses, you'll want to be frugal with the surveys.

Also, I note that only one of your electives is in your subject area. If you are more interested in Europe, why not just do Europe?
