help me to get rid of help

I find that merging the Help forum with General\Strategy has been an error (from a reader's PoV).

The readability of the thread list has been degraded.
I have maximum respect for those who need to solve a *technical* problem (i.e. how do I setup IP games...), I just think they still deserved a forum on their own. They'd have been assisted better, and those looking for *gaming* topics, wouldn't have to browse thru "off-topic" threads too.
With all the emphasis on on-topic/off-topic here at Apolyton, my opinion is that this merging has not been a good service to us users.

I tend to be extremely supportive of the folks and administrators here at 'Poly, but in this instance, I have to agree.

The merge wasn't a good thing.

Now don't get me wrong, I think the 'Poly boards are still great, its just this mix mash of topics seems to be adding confusion where it didn't need to be.

Can you give us the rationale for why the change? It's not a major point but it gives the appearance of discrimation to us die hard SMACers when 5 topic headings to cover combined topics of teh two games, SMAC and SMACX, while CTP and CTP2 end up with a total of 10 topic headings and Civ2 has 6. I realize it has much to do with amount of topic threads posted but .?.?.?...

I re-empahisze its not a big deal but it does appear that SMAC is not an empahsis around here. That being said it's still the best SMAC(x) forum I know of bar none and deserves credit.

MoSe & Ogie: how about if we got everybody to preface their new help threads' titles with "Help:" to distinguish them from the Strat & General topics? Seems to me that most of the people at 'Poly are regulars and would actually follow such a system.
