2050 - Game Over Support Apolyton, pre-order Civilization IV

Hello,
Is there a way to extend the mandatory retiring date (2050)?

Suffering from ads?

Yes the editor allows you to increase the number of turns. You can play on after 2050 anyway, just no score.

Increase Your PM Length

THANK YOU everyone, but I found THE answer myself. I just start a game, save, and edit the savegame file with the civ3 savegame modifier. In there there are two settings - starting year and ending year. I just set the 2050 number to 10000 and now I have a looong time to finish that space race .

Browse Apolyton AD-FREE

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't there some button that says "game limits" during the civ selection when starting a new game (just below the description of the civ selected). I have PTW and I did not ever saw this button in regular civ.

If clicked on you can select between turns or victory points. Standard is 540 turns or 10,000 victory points (whatever that may be). The deal here is that the game ends mandatory when one of these conditions is first met.

If both set to 0, they are disregarded, meaning game goes on until one of the victory conditions is met (UN vote, Space Race, Conquest etc.)

I think there was something like that in Civ II (or maybe Civ I), but I do not remember it with Civ III.

yes, but like Major Guz said, you can do it when settling a new game with the "game limits" button. By doing this instead of tweaking through the editor, you're still playing by the standard rules and allowed for the HoF. 540 turns is quite enough. A 1000 turns game should be quite tedious by the actual engine and discoveries tree... A 100+ hours game on a huge map should be justified to play by implementing additional eras like prehistoric, Renaissance, future era.
