I've started this new thread for the purpose of talking more and more about the world ... the big picture. As we move along, I am becoming more and more convinced that we have continents and that the other 3 civs are on a different continent ... or perhaps 2.
Legoland's Nimitz contacted me today and asked to chat. He was joined by Vodrack (who is far more clever and insightful) in the chat. I spoke with both and learned the following:
GoW contacted them via PM. In this conversation GoW hyped the dangers of ND, saying that ND was way ahead of GoW, that ND had contact with 2 other nations, and that ND was a threat to GoW. Lego wanted to know if we'd met ND and if we thought ND was a serious threat.
I let them know that we have met ND and do not consider them a major threat, but are warry of them as they jumped into the lead with their scouts and goodie huts.
Nimitz still believes that they're on a continent with us and GoW (and therefore ND, etc) but Vodrack was more insightful. He told me that he think they're on an island.
He asked me who else we've had contact with, and I made an agreement with them that if I told them, they'd have to tell me who and when they received contact with, and they keep it secret. They agreed.
I let them know that we have contacted GoW, ND, and Lux. They told me that they have yet to meet anyone, and Vodrack said (very good point) that they should have met someone by now, if they had a neighbor.
They're going to rush to Mapmaking, but continue to explore their SE shores for the unlikely land bridge that they hope is there.
Unfortunately, this means that should we also rush to Mapmaking, they will have nothing to trade us upon first contact. We will hold all of the maps, contacts, and techs that they want. We will have to sell them tech for GPT deals.
Perhaps, if we can be assured that their small ships can reach us, we set our Mapmaking research at 10% (to comply with any tech agreements we might make), mass up gold to transform warriors to swordsmen, and trade them tech for mapmaking upon their first contact with us. I would only recommend we take this route if we can be assured that they would contact us first and not some other nation.
It is becoming clear that Vox and GS are either on their own islands, or they both share an island. If they both share an island you can imagine what sort of scuffle those two are going to get into.

IN the Diplomacy Hut is a message of the UTMOST urgency, for which immediate response is necessary. The EVIL Warmongers are trying to turn Neu Demogyptica against us by lies and deceit. Their evil leader, Genghis Farb Khan of China has written to Neu Demogyptica letters blatantly stating that we are allying with two other civilizations to destroy them, saying that we convinced Lux Invicta to destroy them, and asked the Warmongers too, but they denied it. This is blatant treachery, sirs, and I turn you to the Diplomacy Hut to read of it.
MY SUGGESTION:
Send these envoys to Lux Invicta, and convince them, with the aid of Neu Demogyptica, that it was a set up to turn Neu Demogyptica against us and the Lux Invictans, and that it was an attempt to start a war between all three of us, which it was. Thus, we should at the earliest possible convenience unite and form an alliance to drive them to destruction, or to force them to pay revenue and be as slaves or mercenaries toward us. We could force the Warmongers to sell themselves out as mercenaries, or be destroyed, and to pay us all a revenue of gold every turn, and to deliver to all of us their new techs, or face total destruction at our hands. Such we could force, or we could threaten total destruction.

Of course, on the other hand, it could be a totally different plot whatsoever. I would rule the Lux Invictans out because though they'd have the means and perhaps even a reason for it, I suspect that too much would go wrong for them. It was either, likely, a Warmonger plot, or some new devilry from the Neu Demogypticans. As well as the motives Senor el Ruby Master laid out, we have this scenario:
It could be a Neu Demogyptican plot to heighten and build anger at the Warmongers, who they truly wish to see destroyed. They could be forming this plot to make us be filled with patriotic fervor and want ever more to whip those Chinese back to Valhalla, and be done with them, for they do fear them, this is clearly evident in their letters. It would build anger everywhere, even in Lux Invicta, and so it would be the perfect way to force our hand against them.

If it is GoW's Policy to Create such a distrust between all of our Nations, that would be a way for them to make sure that there are Employers for these so called Mercenaries to hire them.
THe best way to fight this kind of thing, is to continue what we are doing and work towards Peace and Stability.

To my eyes it looks like no nation in the world (except the Spanish of course) tells the truth. The world politics will probably erupt in a generalized war...
As the great spanish diplomats have said before, I think that the best option for Spain should be to honour all the agreements we are on, but at the same time to be clever enough to no compromise ourselves about something we don't want to do
