How about being ripped apart by rabid dogs? I'm sure there's a plethora of them posting on the IG boards.

Something to play? Try Civ3:PTW, Medieval:TW and Diablo II over a LAN. We all have games to play, that doesn't mean we have to go out and buy something new because a release was delayed...

Well they have to do the language conversion as well, but this doesn't mean the game couldn't ship earlier than this int he US.

So, if it gets pushed again will the fanbois have a leg to stand on?

I would very much prefer to not have to rely on EB-Games, Amazon, or some newsgroup to get a possible release date.

If the developers have enough time to post on message boards then they either have it done or don't manage their time properly.

That's not true, and you know it. Look at who the people posting are! Rantz and Chantz? Well, let's see. Rantz is a graphics director, and Chantz is a producer. Do you think either of those can be hunting bugs right now? Well, no, since they don't write the code. Have you seen a programmer post a single once? No, because they are all busy hunting those bugs down.

Besides, if nobody from the team was ever posting, there would be people whining that the company doesn't care about the fans, that they don't want to give out any info, and that the developers feel they are higher than the players, and don't descend to talking with them (as if the people aren't saying that already ).

Heh, amusing...

If the game comes out and is fantastic will the whining complainers finally shut up?

If you don't want to rely on EB, Amazon, et al for a release date then how about not checking for a release date and just buying the game when it hits the shelves? I am sure you'll be able to find some reference to the game being shipped when it finally occurs.

I think that some consideration should be given to the fact that many release dates have been given and missed.

ehhh....let people vent a little.

It really isn't totally unwarranted.

I understand what you are saying, all I meant was that
their venting is not baseless.

This is an opinion place, so I think that complaints have as much a place as praise. (given that they are not baseless rants)

How can complaints and "whining" only be un-appreciated -- I still don't see how it hurts, or affects anyone. That's prolly why we get very little info from anyone, they're just little pieces of text, tied together with spaces and dashes -- nothing major.

That's why whenever someone talks about troll this or troll that...I just wanna say, "It's a message board -- don't get offended."

Besides...if we choose to spend 50 bucks on the game, the developers should have the decency to let us complain about not having it -- it's kinda a compliment, it lets them know that right now -- a lot of people want their game, perhaps that number is dwindling, but at worse -- it just says, "Hey guys, these people must really want our game, they keep saying how disappointed they are it isn't out yet -- maybe we should focus on the fact they are paying our salaries by buying our product, and think its a good thing they want our game."

I'm wrong.

you CAN make a complaint in a manner that will not bother people. whining and venting(things completely different from normal, argumentative complaints) are a waste of everyone's time. at least i got better things to do than read useless stuff....

Tis true...no game will ever be bug free. But I think the moo team are going for more of a crash bug free game. One game which is almost bug free (I haven't come across any bugs yet but who knows I haven't had it for that long) is Medieval: Total War. If there are bugs there, then its like a total minimum. If the moo team can make a game with a lack of bugs like total war then life will be sweet. Bytheway if anyone does know any bugs in totalwar, let me know...

But...it's not like anyone forced you to be a forum mod.

Just, what do people expect. Developers say one thing and do another, it would obviously make anyone mad.
