PETA is boycotting something? Quick, alert the media!

In other news, Mothers Against Drunk Driving are planning to boycott drunk driving and Pro-Life of America is planning to boycott abortions.

In all seriousness, though they may have a (somewhat) noble goal here, all of the incredibly stupid things PETA has done has made it so nobody can take them or their message seriously.

it is really funny, but the sad thing is, it's their delivery which screws things up. The message they wish to convey is a good one - so why can't they do it with tact and class?

I don't have a problem with meat eating. I do it myself. But I wouldn't buy from a company if I knew they abused their animals or did unethical things to them to increase 'quality'. They should present their information in a clear and factual way - to let the average person (who may very much support animal rights) know what's going on. If they do it in the manner they have in the past, I won't listen, and I can't imagine many others listening either.

I'd actually preferred them to grow pieces of meat, that wouldn't have all those unneccessary sensory parts, that we don't eat anyway (most of us, at least. ). It would be more efficient.

I don't mind that animals are being abused. I am worried about the individuals that are treating those animals, and the changing in the psychology.

what's with this animals rights bullshit? Animals eat other animals by chopping them to pieces while alive. Some plants digest flies without killing them first. Snakes swallow their pray whole, without it being dead ( the non-poisonous ones ). Chimps violently kill smaller primates, and eat them. Cruelty is something that we don't want to suffer. That doesn't mean it doesn't occur in nature.

Btw, I have a dog, and I love him very much.

Azazel, as much as you don't give a **** about other life, it effects humans too - the sorts of conditions PETA is campaigning against are the same things that bring around stuff like madcow disease, and have turned uncooked meat into a bio-hazard.

Just cuz you don't think animals have no rights (which they don't) doesn't mean you think animals should be treated cruelly by humans. Furthermore, as Oswald notd, factory farming (which necessitates this cruelty) is extremely dangerous to humans.

The chicken supply in the US has become somewhat deadly. It was once the case that you didn't have to sterilize your hands and kitcehn after making chicken, now you must. More than three quarters of all chickens sold in the US are infected with various types of food poisoning (and having once suffered horribly from a bad McDonald's chicken sandwich, let me say its an experience I hope I never go through again--I've never been so sick from food before, I couldn't even walk).
