A girl I (sadly) know claims that she can become 'high' off of half a cigarette (tobacco) and sloppy drunk off of half a beer. Personally I think she's lying, or it's all in her head, or she's an idiot, or all three, but I just wanted to clarify - is it possible to get high on half a cig or drunk on half a beer?

This girl is no light-weight, either, probably about 5'4 and 200 pounds. She claims she was so high once, from smoking half a cigarette, that she skipped down the street and started talking to a stop sign.

Sounds pretty asinine to me...

I can get a sensation out of a couple to a few drags on a cigarette, but then I do that maybe once a year. I can also get a sensation out of half a pint of strong lager, drunk in one go and after a month or so's dry spell. Neither of these cases would I call "high", just a kind of inkling of its effect.

Spinning around on the spot until I'm dizzy woudl be more of a high though.

Depens how much she smokes... a person who has never smoked before indeed gets a huge rush from their first taste of nicotine as their body has no tolerence to it.
I remember having my first cig in a friends garden, getting a bit giggly and dizzy and then walking to school... and having to sit down on someone's wall to stop the world spinning. Man if only I could repeat that buzz. Better than pot. Well, similar, anyway.

It's probably 'all in her head', but then thats true of many drugs, see the thread I started on people acting drunk when they're told they've ingested alcohol (but haven't).

I think I read that it takes something like 20 odd seconds for the body to absorb nicotine, but in my mind the second the smoke hits the back of my throat I'm happy

See here's the deal with me. I can drink all day long ........liquor that is .....mixed drinks etc. and not have a problem and hold my alcohol but if you get me to drink a beer or two at the most then I wind up plastered. Can't explain it but that's what happens.

well i don't know...
maybe her tolerance is real low for any kind of substance.

i know im a light weight....
a couple of drinks of any kind and thats all i need to feel toasty most of the time....i rarely do plastered anymore.

and i do like to smoke cigs when im drinking
don't smoke any other time....
and the first couple always knock me on my backside.
but then im ok and usually smoke a pack for the evening.

You can say I was doing it wrong, but I know how to smoke pot- so I don't think I was.

But I didn't really feel anything from cigarrettes. I was drunk at the time, that might have been the reason. but I didn't get any kind of kick. I thought it would help keep me awake. It did not.

Definately not worth it for how nasty cigarrettes are.
