thats good to know. I thought so too but wasnt sure.
I think it also has to do with the players that make up the band each time.

can someone recommend me like 5 of the "best" classical pieces (by general conscensus as possible, not his/hers "best") of all times so I can start the burning?

There probably would be no general consensus. It also depends heavily on the particular genre (symphony, solo instrument, choral work, opera, ballet, concerto, chamber music, etc.). There's such a huge pool to choose from that selecting 5 definitive "best classical works" is impossible.

if someone else doesnt find it impossible, i'd be glad to hear his/hers recommendations.

Id really want to start with something worthwhile and take it from there. not just random pick
(and theres no way I will burn the WHOLE collections - well not in the near future anyway)

I just want copies of these Berlin Phil recordings.

Fine, start here:

Symphony - Beethoven No. 5 in C minor

Concerto - Brahms Piano Concerto No. 2

Choral - You said you had a Requiem (there are tons, but assume you meant Mozart's? If not, then Mozart's Requiem is a must-have). Try the Bach B Minor Mass.

Tone Poem - Mussorgsky's A Night on Bald Mountain.

Overture - Tchaikovsky's 1812 is the most popular, but other ones to consider are Rossini's William Tell Overture, Rimsky-Korsakov's Russian Easter Festival Overture or Brahms' Academic Festival Overture.

Ballet music - Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite (although I detest it, it is insanely popular). His Swan Lake is also popular.

That can get you started.

Try any Mozart piano concerto or Beethoven's 6th Symphony if you are looking for accessibile classical.

Or try Rachmaninoff's Symphonic Dances for fabulously lyrical.

Technically, all music is accessible, though a lot is acquired taste. In terms of common classical terminology, it's music that the average person can hear and instantly appreciate as melodious, harmonious, pleasant, etc. Mozart is easily accessible, Berg definitely is not.
