Roleplay and Lux have signed a defense treaty.
Roleplay and Lego have signed a defense treaty.
Whether Lego and Lux have a defense treaty I am unsure of.

I suspect Roleplay is going to slow down its tech rate and use the other teams to do the bulk of its research.

Be very careful about approaching ND with any offers to work against the other civs. They have sent info to Roleplay and I've heard Roleplay members brag about how they used our own comments to convince ND we were plotting against them.

Anything sent to ND will most likely be forwarded to Roleplay and Lux.

ND is friendlier to Roleplay than Lux. We should make some overture to Lux in respect to ND and Roleplay.

We have to break this 3 way pact now.

What would happen if we openly showed them our hand to one of them...
Offered a defence pact or non-aggression pact right up past our rider domination period...say up to Gunpowder ?

Perhaps word the request ...

We believe that to win this game, at least two civs must work together to dominate the rest. We wish to offer a mutual protection pact well into the 2nd age (say until gunpowder when our UU's become obsolete). Together, we can overcome any threat and keep ahead of everyone else in technology.
Upon signing this agreement any trade negotioans with any 3rd civ will be shared between us.
For your infomation, we have signed for following agreements
Non Agression pacts for ?? turns with ???
Blah Blah Blah !

Perhaps the above needs to be worded a little better and some courting done first.
But I do believe we are in serious danger in there is a three way pact against us.

They will want to take us out before we get riders.
If they each produced just a few horsemen, they would easily overrun us.

More thoughts ... and a blatant attempt to try and increase my post count.

Roleplay seems to have dominated the Diplomacy arena.

They dont need a good UU when they can sign proection pacts and get others to do their tech research.

This guess is not based on any information I have but if I were them I would think they'd believe that Glory of War would start waring before Chivalry, even if it meant breaking treaties.

Lux & ND are scrambling over each other for space. They are going to war against each other.

Will the Lux-RP defence treaty bring RP into this war also ?

If so, I think it would better suit our needs if we align with ND. Otherwise RP & Lux will just turn on us after ND is gone.

Why did Lux ask us if we can be ready for war in 15 turns ? Surely they cant seriously believe anyone could be ready in such a short space of time.

Is this a way of getting information about our battle readyness. If Lux double-crosses us and sells HBR to RP, (which RP believe will happen) then perhaps we could see a RP & Lux offensive against us in the near future.

Unlikely...but this is the thread to claim such theories.

If such an event were to happen, I think NDG would be on our side (unless all of this going to war stuff with Lux is fake ).

Lux is definitely on good terms with Roleplay. Their city site cuts us off far more than it cuts off ND.

I think it would be wise to at least look at the possibility that they are after us and not ND.

They have Horseback Riding. They are researching Mysticism (or so they say). They will soon get Writing from Roleplay.

I don't think we could have done anything different as we had already agreed to trade them Horse for Iron. I also think we should follow through with the Mathematics for Mysticism as we agreed to it. But it might be smart to keep in mind that may be part of a devious Roleplay plot against us.

From the messages Borc sent us they seem very friendly towards us. While I agree ND's territory would be better for positioning against Roleplay I think we should switch are plans towards wiping Lux out when they break the treaty and betray us which is starting to seem a very likely possibility.

My connections at Roleplay confirmed that the Lux ambassador to Roleplay just yesterday informed Roleplay that they will have finished "researching" Horseback Riding in 5 turns and wanted to confirm that Roleplay would trade them Writing for Horseback and not us.

I don't think Roleplay is aware that Lux already has Horseback and that they got it from us.

I just cant believe my conspiracy theory has come true.
The question about 15 turns has me concerned.
Could Lux force a war to begin in such a short period on time ?
