Slowwhand made a good point about my behavior in one of David's threads. He pointed out that I seem to be inconsistent, or hypocritical by talking about problems, and not taking any active part in trying to resolve them.

In this instance, it's in regards to my oppossing United State's sponsorship of terrorism, while declaring a war against terror committed by other groups.

Would Amnesty International be a good group to consider joining to become an activist against United State's sponsored terrorism? I know that Amensty International deals with hundreds of different issues in all parts of the world, so I'm wondering if there is part of Amensty International, that focuses strongly enough on the School of America's pratice of terrorism?

To be more frank:

I think you should join an organization that will make you less idealistic, and more realistic.

That way you can see that sometimes your beliefs and real life don't mesh.

So I'm unrealistic because I'm angered by the United State's operation of School of America?

Is anyone here a member of Amnesty International? When my new semester starts on Jan. 13, I can ask my professor who is in charge of our local branch on campus.

But what about any Apolytoners?

Mr. Fun, in all seriousness, if you are looking for more political activism, you could become involved with the local Green Party . I work with the greens in Wichita and we have done some Wal-Mart protests, anti-war ralleys, lots of good stuff.
I'm not too sure about how active amnesty international is, but I may look into them too.
