	Science 1852 Support Apolyton, buy GURPS/ Alpha Centauri

Last time we researched Steel & Tactics and are currently researching Machine Tools (halfway done). We also stole Atomic Theory and Theology.

You voted to get to Space Flight ASAP last time; here are the required techs:

Radio -> Adv. Flight -> Rocketry
Automobile -> Mass Production
Miniaturization + Mass Prod. -> Computers
Computers + Rocketry -> Space Flight

And here's the techs we could research immediately after Machine Tools:

Fundamentalism
Espionage
Genetic Engineering
Automobile
Miniaturization
Radio
Refrigeration

So vote for which tech/path you want to go for.

Listen, ppl!! We have NO NEED for Espionage yet. Yes, it's a fun tech, and very powerful. BUT IT'S NOT ON THE PATH TO APOLLO!!!

Don't listen to these Foreign Ministers! They have no perspective on our goals!

The path to Alpha Centauri must be rigorously followed! The game will ALWAYS force you off the path at least once -- and that's when you take a dead-end tech like espionage. NO SOONER!!!

Yes, Espionage is a fun and powerful tech. But it's just another toy for the militia to play with, delaying our ascension by several turns.

I tend to agree. In this style of game, at this point in it, what would we do with Espionage if we got it?

Well, we can always bribe Mongol cities.

Build Espionage, only if forced to choose between two techs off the path of spaceflight/computers.

I vote for the path to computers for the SETI program, and a 50% increase in science.

Also, Miniturisation will allow us to build offshore platforms to increase our productivity.

More productivity means more spies and more 'vans available.

John- all cities that will benefit from factories have built factories, or have factories under construction.

MFG plants require Robotics, which is off the path of spaceflight, but could help for some of our extremely productive cities.
