	Catch me if you can - the movie Support Apolyton, buy Call to Power 2

Have you seen it? I think it was a GREAT movie!
I heard that the book is even better (naturally), and covers more of the story..

How cool is this guy? Everyone wants to be a con man like Frank is!

Anyway, I recommend this movie with all my heart, it's funny, clever, and based on a true story about a young man who starts making fake checks, cashing money, and then pretending to be a pilot, doctor, lawyer, teacher.. and he works in those jobs too! I won't give out too much, if you haven't seen it yet. It has Leonardo Di Caprio in leading role, I don't really like him, but he was good in this film. Also I wondered what Tom Hanks would be like in this film, since I couldn't think he would be succesfull in this one, but omg he was the man .

I'd like to hear what you thought of this movie.

I really liked the movie. It was actually enjoyable, a laid-back movie but not boring either.

thats nice to know.

but i decided i didnt want to see this one though right from the beggining,
its just that its theme has no allure on me whatsoever.

jeses ive been a bit cut off from cinema lately

last movie i saw was a couple of weeks before
bend it like bechkam, very recommened too.

i just dont find it attractive and i think i already know more or less how it will go.

or i am just immensly bored by american easy cinema any more...

if it isnt a mega producion like LOTR

i seldom go anymore to these movies.

(still not even close to other nelgish films)

also there is the man without a past which i want to see and also greek cinema seems like its starting to flourish now and there are a tones of movies from there i havent seen.


i just cant stand easy american cinema anymore so easily as i did in the past.

I thought Bend it like Beckham was good too. Man without a past.. I didn't like it (I did it, I went to see it). But that's ok, I can see what appeals in it, it's just not for me. The security guard in it is cool though.

Ok, catch me if you can.. well sure you're on the track, but you have to remember that this is based on a true story, which makes it more interesting (for me at least)..

The guy for example dresses as pilot, and then just simply goes dead heading (flying free, as a pilot) all over the world, and decides to learn flying stuff, so he can chat with other pilots.. Then he decides to go work as a doctor, and he just does it! This man is like 17 years old or something.. He doesn't necessarily change his roles for avoiding FBI, he does it for kicks and fun. He gets nearly 4 million dollars cash for different kind of frauds and jobs too.. I mean you don't find it appealing if someone just goes up to let's say hospital and apply for a job, claiming to be a doctor and harvard graduate, just for fun?

Pekka, not really

mainly because i dont find it to be so extraordinary

but it IS really special that he would do those thing, but i just know that i will be bored by the WAY hollywood will choose to present them.

so its basically because of the way this theme is likely to be presented.

i just dont like... how to say it... carricature characters anymore in films....
unless the overall theme of the movie interests me in which case its ok.


barein mind i had a friend who would go out with different girls every night.
who has made love to more young girls than i could ever imagine
who would just hit on a girl waiting in a bus station and would have good chances to be sleeping with her tomorrow

and that is my childhood friend.
hell, i cant keep up with how his mind works, or his energy

now HE is exceptional and is REAL life

decaprio playing doctor to get chicks just doesnt appeal to me as something that extraordinary

also bare in mind, they say based on a real story and the movie can be something entirely different.


not that i am discparaging the movie.

it can be very good, as you say it is who saw it.
it just the theme that doesn appeal to me and the caricaturish way characters are likely to be presented in that particular theme.

BTW i dont think he's lucky, he's just obsessed. we have gone out a myriad of times with different girls and i would often get embarassed at the way he held himself with them, the things he said and the games he played (not insensire words, just shock shots to get their attention) but he is my childhood friend and i am his and we will always be dear friends and close. but he has drove away all of his friends with his obsession which is also his only intrest, although he is a really good person. he just has this thing.

his moto when i asked him if he doesnt care that so many girls think he's an imbecile was: athens has 5 million people (=so many girls)


anyway, real life does suprass fiction. more than once

So he's a player.. I think there comes a point when it's not cool anymore, you know, using people too much. Lack of respect for someones feelings and so on.But what can you do.. friend is a friend even if he has some bad habits . Besides, you can get some rebounds yourself hanging with him!

i used to get all the sophisticated chiks who would not fall for his "childish" games and they wanted someone more serious (that would be me thank you very much )
as you said friends are friends but is very difficult to be around a person who doesnt care acting like a complete jerk in front of girls all the time. you just get embarassed by it.. believe me. but we always respect eachother. its just that his acting many times has made me hold my head with my hands (inside my mind) because it i SO out there ALL the time
apart from me and a couple of other also childhood friends he doesn have any other friends.
and he's also tired of what he does, but also afraid that he cant do/be anything else by now.

Ok.. I think 'players' wouldn't have so much friends.. since they are too busy getting women all the time, and maybe they won't let people too close to him, or people who get close see something they don't want to see.
Don't know.. I knew one, he was my friend but now we're not so close anymore. Mainly, because he was always with a new girl, so we couldn't hang out a lot, he was always on a new game, and third wheels are not welcomed then. I had enough.

his kind of sorrow was that he didnt have any friends or close friends. i practically walked away because i couldnt stand his VERY out there behavior all the time.

he didnt mind company when going out with girls. on the contarry he wanted it.

whenever i called him up or he call me up he always had some new girl "and her (female) friend" so we could go out and noone would get bored.

but most girls run away from him after one night, others run away to his bed. all after a very short time left him. but when each night is with new one and a new one... you do the math
he's used to that way of life but it is a very high energy and thick skin one

but hes obsessed with that. he doesn talk about anything else, and he doesnt do anything else.
but he had some very good looking girlfriens let me tell you

funny how we never fought about a girl now that i think about it.
if i liked someone he would say, hey go ahead, yours and he would back off

Not really. The FBI agent portrayed in the movie never existed, he never called the FBI on Christmas, and never pretended to be a teacher for starters.

However I agree with your assessment of the movie, I enjoyed it immensely.

Hey man, girls are not worth fighting for, or loosing a friendship, never ever . That's my policy. If it's the girl or friend.. girls gotta go.. Girls come and go (except that special one some day), friends are forever. Good friends are hard to find, girls you can pick up where ever you are. Girls leave you, or you leave them, but friends won't leave you, even if you leave them.

That kind of life is, however very stressfull I believe.. not being able to establish good relationships etc.. I wouldn't want that. And yes, I had 5 girls in my car today.
