I already sent Markos a PM asking him to appoint a mod here, I named myself, Solver and you, Frozzy, as potential candidates, but it's up to Markos to arrange the details of that...

And I will come here all the time and play, so if I become a mod here, there should ususally be no need to PM me if something needs to be done

In the CtP2 DG there was never an issue, I simply became the mod. I'm more than happy to do the same here but if people want someone else to mod that's fine with me as well. But it would be useful to appoint one fairly soon as in the early phase a mod is very much needed...

But it would be a huge advantage to have the mod be a participant of the game, so if Solver doesn't plan on actually playing in the DG (and I get the impression that he doesn't, although I'm sure he'll correct me if I'm wrong), that would leave you, Frozzy, and me as most logical candidates, at least while setting up the game...

You're right, I don't plan to play in this - I don't find the whole concept too exciting, and my schedule is tight enough.

I'm sure that a participant-mod would do a good job, then, and Frozzy makes a good candidate indeed.

However, Loc, are you saying you're really going to play this one?

Good point, living 12 hours apart makes it perfectly possible and quite useful to have 2 mods. I think that would be a good start then, to make both of us mod - if Markos can agree to that. We can always see where to go from there...

(But if anyone else has an opinion on the matter, please, do tell us...)

I agree two mods aren't a bad idea four eyes see more then two eyes. I think it would be good to have two mods in the CTP2 DG as well.

This was the problem in the Off-Topic at the moment (there was a recent thread on this in the A/C forum).

The three moderators there before (MtG, Ming, rah) were all in the same timezone, so of course even the venerable Ming couldn't stop the early morning spam and flaming from Europe.

Since then Markos has stepped in, I think.

Anyway, it shows how useful two or three moderators from different timezones can be.

having the elected president be moderator would be the best choice, they're the ones who post threads that need to be topped. IMO it would work better

I'm pretty new to this game (got it ~2-3 weeks ago), but I enjoy very much. I have played Civ 3, SMAC, and now CTP1.
