Ok, so maybe I don't really agree with the need for such a 'full' constitution but fairs fair, I can live with it. I do think its about time that something was brought up though... Elections!

As far as initiating discussions go I'm willing to put forward Vondrack's name for President. This is no bad reflection on Jack_www but more of an acknowledgement of Vondrack's stirling work which I'm sure we all appreciate. I think he deserves the next term as President. (If only to keep him writing those excellent reports!)

As an aside, I am resigning as Military architect in order to run for Foreign Minister

I will do it, just let me a little time. I came home for about 14 hours and now I'm at work. I'll take care this week on the Constitution issue. I propose that we shall hold our elections after the ratification of Magna Chartaginia. This should take less than 2 weeks, IMHO. (the voting procedure only should last at least one week). If this is too far away, we can hold them now, it doesn't bother me to have yet another round of "illegal" ministers

OK, with Tibi being back, I believe it really is time to finish and ratify our Constitution. I must admit that from my experience and the first five or six weeks of the demogame, I don't really think we need all those elaborate clauses on voting and such too much... I hope I am speaking for everybody when saying we get along with each other easily, with no needs for "strict rules"...

On the other hand, there are things we do need to set (e.g., the term length definitions) and as the "extra" clauses present in the current Constitution draft do not - IMHO - complicate things, I believe it would be okay to adopt the Constitution draft, even if we actually end up using only parts of it...

As for myself... I thank redstar1 (and lmtoops, who did it even earlier in another thread) for nominating me... I hereby accept the nomination. However, I would prefer not being a single candidate, so I do hope there will be someone else willing to help our elections differ from a mere proclamation or "endorsement". I'd appreciate that.

Also, as running for the President implies not running for the F.M., I will be happy to give my vote to redstar1, who has proven to be skilled in putting polite diplomatic notes together... Which, in turn, leaves the post of Military Architect vacant. Out of our experience, we need someone who is quite active in the forum (and willing to take care of the office, as our units are becoming more numerous). Tiberius, Sharpe, Kloreep? lmtoops? Anyone willing/wishing to candidate?

Even though it's just my personal opinion, I believe that Spiffor and ZargonX are taking care of their offices well and I hope they will run for their posts again. I will be sure to vote for them, if they do.
