After the USA invades Iraq and he uses both chemical and biological weapons on the troops will he be in 'material breech'? Or will the US have forced him to go to the nearest WMD convenience store to pick up some quick goodies he didn't have before the invasion?

Actually, I forgot. If he uses chemical or biologics the Europeans will say the US is spreading them on our own troops to set him up.

So what if he does use them? If you don't like how people defend themselves, then don't attack them. If you start to bully someone and he responds by kicking your nuts up into your nostrils, don't whine that you didn't have it coming.

Since 1945 the US has explicitly renounced a policy of No First Use of nuclear weapons. In Iraq, policy seems to be to threaten a nuclear response to chemical or biological attack, which does not even pretend to be proportionate.

Any C or B attack could well be the act of a local commander out of touch with HQ as communications break down. It could even be staged.

So threatening a nuclear response isn't exactly taking the Moral High Ground here.

So your question is: if we invade Iraq because we're convinced that Saddam has WMD, and then he does and uses them because he's being invaded, what will I say?
