I got the same reaction when I last changed my name to Sagacious Dolphin. People wanted me to change back to the name Big Crunch.

Then there are those that hated and then loved the new quote system

People just don't like change it seems, then it grows on them.

I think that the number of words in a post should be counted rather than just whether somebody simply posts anything. Some of the mammoth documents/diatribes I've seen should be worth more than a smilie. Ethelred, for example, would have 'demon' status. Content could be judged by the impartial mods and added to the 'post score'. Then there could be some value placed on punctuation and spelling. Non-english speakers would have a big advantage in that regard due to their superior (i.e. having any) punctuation and grammer skills.

So as members spam up every higher post counts do you think Markos will have to change the number of posts it takes to get to a given rank? Or maybe in a year or two he could great a new rank above diety since we'll have so many new dieties running around.
