I'm rather astonished when I think where I have gained all my counted posts.
My estimate, without any checks or searches, is that Civ II General and Civ II Strategy have a mucher portion than you would think, if you look at my current activity level there (which is zero, unless there's something to comment). However Civ III General and Civ III Help have also several hundred [it has to be as my posts must have come somewhere ] posts by me, despite I haven't posted there either. Now A/C and Stella Polaris seem to be the two forums where I gain most counted posts, despite I'm not the most "spamish" (not in the real sense of actual spam ) poster in the Stella Polaris forum. It has to be either Ace (actual member name Jeremy Buloch) or Targon that have the record (could be one Kurilka too actually) as e.g. Ace was only Chieftain or Settler when the StP forum opened, and now he's Prince, while Targon has only posted in the StP forum and he's Warlord with 277 posts. And in order not to go too far off-topic, I could continue that the post count rankings have no real mening in the StP forum as the Gateway013 has a post count of 42 (all of them in the StP forum), so based on Horsie's system he would have no value. However he very rarely posts anything short and it's always quality messages, so the post count has no real value.

Actually... the OTF is a much smaller portion than you might think for me. I posted extensively in the Civ II forums originally. Civ II strategy was a big area for me. As we first started to really disect the game and come up with new strategies, there were many, many posts. And then, came OCC, and the other challanges which I found Highly entertaining and discussed them at great lengths.
Civ II MP opened the door for tons of new posts. When it first came out, there was a lot of material to cover. Between discussing new strategies, and just setting up games... the posts just rolled in.
And then came the Civ III wishlist forums. I got heavily involved in finding all the cheats and bugs so that they could be avoided in the new game.
While I did post in the extensively in the original Civ II general forum, that later became the OTF in combination with other general forums, I really didn't post a lot in the new combined OTF. I was far more interested in Civ than the topics being discussed in the OTF. Plus, my old buddies were all Civ II people, and many of the "characters" in the new OTF came from other forums.
While I did post in the New OTF, it wasn't until I was "recruited" to be a mod that I really started posting heavily in that forum.
But I kind of laugh now when I hear how the old posts from the OTF counting as being unfair to newer posters who never had that opportunity. New posters have MANY MANY more forums to post in on topic. We never had Democracy Games to spam like new posters do now Heck, Trip made it to emperor in what, about 3 to 4 months... In the past, that would have been tough to do even when OTF posts counted. The opportunities for spam now are far greater than they ever were in the past.
