If the vets are going to sue anyone, it should be the US government. Even if the Iraqis used chemicals, it was in self defense - remember, the US was never attacked by Iraq. Quite obviously, then, the proper entity that should be sued is the US government, for warmongering.
But then again, these people volunteered, so presumably they knew the risks. This lawsuit is ridiculous.

Oh, and if companies are responsible for this, shouldn't the US have to pay cancer victims from Hiroshima and Nagasaki? And compensate burn victims from Dresden? Maybe England and France and Germany, etc., owe each other money for chemical attacks in WW1. I could go on at length, but I won't. Again, this is just silly.

Seriously, though - why should US companies be liable for chemical weapons used against US troops, when the US troops were actually ATTACKING a country? It makes no sense at all.
I could perhaps see the logic if it was the other way around - it would still be silly, but a little less so.
